It's not a bad deal if you don't already have a sub.

Would I be better off going with something else? Or are you suggesting that this is a decent sub?

I've never heard that sub, but for that money I'd buy a new one. I own and highly recommend the BIC America F-12 sub. I paid $187 for it, shipped.

It all depends on your goals. CV isn't known for it's accuracy. They are loud and boomy most of the time. For a 12" sub, it only goes to 28hz and even that is suspect because we don't know if that is the -3db point or the -10db point. I have some surplus CV plate amps that have a cut-off in the mid 30 hz range so I would assume this is similar.

If you have a HTiB box, this would definitely be an upgrade. If you have a BIC or another value sub then this may not stand up to what you already have.

I can't come out and say that this is a good deal because a good deal is very subjective. This is a great deal in my opinion - http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/speaker-accessories-parts/112557-fs-tc-sounds-lightning-audio-3hp-motor.html but it would be wasted money for 99% of the people here. I took advantage of a deal like that and turned it into this - http://web.archive.org/web/20070623145031/http://www.tcsounds.com/tc3000.htm . I actually bought two of them so I have a pair of 15's in my home theater.
