Television favorite wish-fulfilling resort director Mr. Roarke and his energetic sidekick Tattoo from the classic hit series Fantasy Island are back to see their guests frolic in tropical paradise and live out their wildest fantasies when Fantasy Island finally returns for a second season on DVD, just in time for Mother’s Day. On May 8, 2012, Shout! Factory will release the long-awaited Fantasy Island: The Complete Second Season, featuring all 25 memorable episodes. This 6-DVD set is priced to own at $39.97 SRP and is now available for pre-order at Amazon.comShoutFactoryStore.com and other online retailers before hitting store shelves nationwide.

From legendary creative team of Aaron Spelling (Charlie’s AngelsBeverly Hills 90210) and Leonard Goldberg (Hart to HartStarsky & Hutch), Fantasy Island premiered in January 1977, and became one of primetime TV’s most popular series in TV history. Starring Ricardo Montalban (Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan) and Herve Villechaize (The Man with the Golden Gun) as the unique leading characters, the series entranced viewers with tropical settings, engaging storylines, and kept fans hooked with its weekly parade of recognizable name actors throughout its successful seven-season run. It is best remembered for Villechaize’s performance as Tattoo, whose cry of “Da plane! Da plane!” made him a pop culture icon.

Imagine a place where any dream or fantasy can come true. Welcome to Fantasy Island. Each week, two guests arrive on the island looking forward to getting their fantasy fulfilled. Their host is the sophisticated Mr. Roarke (Montalban), the charming and fashionable gentleman who, along with his pint-sized assistant, Tattoo (Villechaize) sees to it that their guests’ island visit is all they could ever have imagined. Each fantasy comes with mystery and suspense; and guests always get what they asked for, but rarely what they expect.

Second season of Fantasy Island features guest stars including Desi Arnaz, Jr., John Astin, Scott Baio, Vivian Blaine, Danny Bonaduce, Sonny Bono, Yvonne De Carlo, Troy Donahue, Samantha Eggar, Anne Francis, Jonathan Frakes, Annette Funicello, Eva Gabor, Peter Graves, Sid Haig, Florence Henderson, Celeste Holm, Don Knotts, Michelle Lee, Janet Leigh, Maureen McCormick, Jayne Meadows, Rue McClanahan, Roddy McDowell, Leslie Nielsen, Cassandra Peterson, Eleanor Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Regis Philbin, Robert Reed, Kyle Richards, Cesar Romero, John Saxon, Connie Stevens, Abe Vigoda, among other notables.

Fantasy Island is a production of Spelling-Goldberg Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television Inc. It has been sublicensed for home video distribution to Shout! Factory.

I'll be happy just owning season 2(I already have 1) but if Shout continues to release the remaining seasons, I'd gladly purchase those as well.
