NEED HELP FINDING TV SELECTION FOR HOME THEATER

I am looking for a great tv to wall mount for a home theater in a basement

looking for specs of minimum 60 inch
not sure whats best between DLP LCD LED PLASMA
3D not real big deal to me
Budget around 2000

Personally for $2000 I would get a projector and screen and have around twice the picture. biggrin.gif

I considered this, but my concern with a projector is its only about a 7 ft ceiling so with it wal mounted in the back of the room the picture could very easily be blocked by people walking by or on the couch for a mystery science theater view

You could ceiling mount the projector (unless there's a ceiling fan in the way) to avoid the MST view. As for folks walking by - that will happen with a TV too...

That won't be a problem if you ceiling mount the projector. My ceiling is only 6ft. 8" tall, and I use a 106" diagonal screen. That is the equivalent of FOUR 53" diagonal TV's on the wall. There is nothing like watching a movie or football game with the BIG screen in HD. What is your seating distance from screen? BUT you must be hooked up to a receiver and speakers for sound.

If you still want to wall mount a TV in the $2000 range I suggest looking at Panasonic's or Samsung's best Plasma sets.
