Hi I'm starting this thread looking for a solution.
I'd like to be able to toggle the Dolby headphone output on a Marantz SR6004 to a set of Sony RF5000K wireless headphones. Simple so far, plug in the headphones to listen muting the main speakers. Unplug to turn main speakers back on and headphones off. The equipment is in a closet and controlled via a Logitech Harmony 1100.
How can I toggle the headphone 'plug-in' remotely from the theater room? Does that mini-jack have a sense switch that mutes the main speakers when you push the jack in? or does it sense the change in impedance when you plug-in? In the first case can you disable that switch? in the second case could you add a simple IR on/off switch to enable/disable the headphone plug-in? Is there another way any one has come up with?
