Help with a new receiver

I was wondering if I could get some advice from everyone.Right now I have a Sony str-dg500 receiver that is on its way out and I am needing a new receiver. I am looking for something at least 7.1 and in the sub $300 range. Main thing I need is at least 4 Hdmi inputs. I would like internet ready but it is not a dealbreaker for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Forget to mention that the focus is mostly movies and gaming

The receivers that are 7.1, like the Pioneer 921, Denon 1712, Onkyo 609 and Yamaha 571, seem to start at about $350-$400. If you're O.K. with a factory refurbished receiver (with a one year warranty) we often recommend Denon's and Onkyo's Ac4l.com.
