trying to watch cable TV on a projection screen

For the past few years, in order to watch the Super Bowl on my projection screeen, I have had to run the cable from the digital cable box, to an old VCR and then out to the Projector (using the VCR as a tuner to get the channels I wanted)... Is there an easier way?

what types of inputs do you have on your PJ ?

match the input with the output of the digital cable box.

Yeah, hook the digital cable box directly to the projector.

You can't hook the cable box directly to the projector, it has no tuner. You have to use a cable box, satellite receiver, or OTA antenna with a separate OTA tuner.

If it's true that that the cable box requires a tuner, then it is an ancient cable box, and not a "digital" box as the original poster describes.

A STB cable box has at least composite video outputs which can connect directly to most projectors.
This should include his, since a VCR had been used,

A DTA cable box only has an RF channel 3/4 output and would not connect to his PJ.

I would suggest swapping/upgrading boxes to use an STB on the PJ, or upgrade cable service to HD and an HD box to the PJ.
