Pandora home screen image 'burned' into the screen of my new Panasonic P65VT30 Plasma

Hello,
I purchased my tv on Dec 5, 2001. I listen to a lot of music through my theater system using Pandora that is an app on my tv. The other day my friend noticed a 'ghost' type image he could see while we were watching a movie. I noticed it too but couldn't figure it out. Today I was listening to music on Pandora and when Pandora went into screen saver I noticed the burned in image. After close inspection, I could see the the 'burned in' image was the Pandora main screen. It's there all the time now.
Has anyone see this before and is there a fix? Or should I just call Panasonic and have them send out a repair squad?
This tv is way to new to have this happen. It even has some sort of pixel shifting so that this doesn't happen.
Thanks for your time and help!

Not sure if this is a typo - but if it is from 2001, then a ten year old TV is hardly new...

You are describing burn-in, and it still does happen, but not as much as before. There is also a sort of temporary burn in that can occur, but usually will go away after turning the set off/on again. If the set is actually from 2011 and has signs of burn-in that will not go away, then I would suggest contacting the store you bought it from for a replacement - and be a little more careful within the first 200 hours of use not to keep a static image in place.

You can find more on the subject of burn-in here:

Doing a little research - from a review on a Panasonic Viera TC-P50VT25 - someone posted this:

" Also there is a program in most menus to clean burn in, basically you just reburn the entire screen and you are pretty much back at 0 again."

See if your set has this option - and try it out before you attempt to replace the unit...

Good luck.

Greetings

Burn in still happens if you abuse it. If it is burned in .. then it is considered abuse and not covered by warranty.

There are screen wiping modes in the TV. Used them for a couple of days and see if it clears it up .... if not use them longer. If after a week, nothing changes, then you have burn in ...

Warranty calls that abuse ... best hope your dealer is really nice about this.

User manual even warns against static patterns being on screen ...

the oppo 93 can do pure audio which means it can make the screen go blank when you are using the pandora radio.
