Very nice upcoming selection. Makes me wonder if Criterion might be cooking a couple of them concurrently, like they did with a few others.

Does anyone know if Eureka! Blu-rays are region locked? I'd love to be able to import some of these if they are region-free.

ISLAND OF LOST SOULS is a Criterion title, and DOUBLE INDEMNITY is due later this year via Universal. So that's...two. smile.gif

Robert Crawford has found a way to make them Zone free.

With a panasonic BR player.

Actually, some of them are region free. Eureka as a company strives to release everything without a lock (they're reasoning very justly that you don't region lock books or music, so why should DVDs or Blu-rays be?) but they have to region lock a title whenever the rights owner wants them to, unfortunately.

My Panasonic plays MoC BDs, too, for which I am extremely grateful.  Haven't tried others' releases, so I don't know if this capability extends to all Region B's.

So it plays Region B MoC BDs such as REPO MAN, TWO-LANE BLACKTOP, TOUCH OF EVIL, METROPOLIS, and SILENT RUNNING or are you speaking of one of their region-free Blu-rays?

Region B.  I have those last two you named.  At the region error message I hit Stop, then Top Menu, then I'm there.

Pretty cool. If I were you, I'd try to hold off on upgrading the firmware on your BD player in case it's something that is "corrected" in a future firmware upgrade.
