Region Fee?

So I'm looking at the Cumberpatch Holmes on Amazon UK. It's region free, but it also says

Please note that this product will not play on US spec 60i Blu-ray players as the Blu-ray discs are authored to UK 50i specs.

So what does this mean?

Most U.S. BD players won't play discs that are 50hz. There are some that will though (my LG BD611 does). There's a list around somewhere. What player do you have?

Unfortunately none of the Sony players sold in the U.S. will play 50hz content.

I have a Panasonic BMP BD75, will the UK 50i play on it? I'm over in Australia.

i've never heard of 60i & 50i before now. I've just recently discovered region A (U.S) and region B (some UK)
what does the 60i 50i mean? what does the US playstation 3 play?

Think of it as the equivalent of PAL and NTSC for hi-def. The PS3 only handles 60i sources.
