So basically I am trying to play video from my Mac / PC laptop that does not have an HDMI out port and connect it to my AVR-1912. I am thinking of using a mini-DVI to HDMI converter and hook the video-out of my laptop into the HDMI in of my receiver. However the audio signal will not get in by this method, so I have to connect the audio output on my laptop (3.5" headphone jack) and hook it to my receiver's L/R aux audio inputs on the front panel.
I now have to figure out a way to get the video (call it HDMI3) and the aux audio inputs to work together. Has anybody figured out a way to configure this? The manual that came with the receiver is horrible in its organization and I cannot figure out a way (if any) to do this.
Alternatively are there any other ideas on how this problem can be solved?
