Thats great fans have noticed this and they'll be able to correct it before the season goes live...I HOPE, maybe they'll be extra extra careful now.

Hey thanks to the the people here that told me about Shatners Captains, rented it in HD on AppleTV, it was great, was hoping for more out of Avery, was he on mushrooms or something? he's my favourite captain he's a great actor and now I know he's a great musician but he just wasn't present in that interview.

Look at the episode title caption, also. They used inch marks rather than real quotation marks on the re-made credits (it's really obvious as they are significantly longer than the real quote marks on the original captions).

Also, the type size, distance of drop-shadow, etc. are different on the re-done ones. You'd think as meticulous as they've been in other areas about re-creating the episodes to be "just like the originals", they'd take a bit more care when redoing the captions. It's more than just downloading a font and typing in the info again.

Are the episode titles like this on "Farpoint" and "Sins of the Father" as well?

I wasn't paying attention to the type faces and font sizes, which I usually do. For the most part, I would look at this Next Level preview set as a test run for the team. They have time to iron out these details. And find the missing footage from Sins.

I saved The Inner Light for last. I was so into the story, I stopped looking and just watched it.

I'm going to take a stab at the release date for the First Season set to be in the September/October 2012 timeframe. With Season Two coming in May 2013. That seems like forever! smile.gif

I'm watching Sins of the Father right now and the episode title font does look...off.  The apostrophe at the end appears too close to the "r" in Father.  In the original, looking at the screencaps at Sins of the Father, the apostrophe's are smaller and barely visible.  It also looks like the words have been bolded.

The shadow on the original guest cast credits is more pronounced than on the new one.

Interesting.

I just finished watching these blu-ray episodes. FANTASTIC JOB!!! I have nothing but accolades for those who are working so hard on getting this show to look this great.

Yeah, the folks responsible for the Doctor Who DVDs (who do text replacements all the time on those releases, matching them precisely with the original broadcast captions, though I'll admit occasionally mistakes are made) would never had done work this sloppy and so obviously unlike the originals.

I know it's just on-screen titles, but I'm sure if they don't address this issue, there's a segment of Trek fandom which will implode.

That's the good thing about Trek- since the fans are so vocal and basically the only people who are going to spend that kind of money on the set, they will likely have to listen to them and get it right.
