Did I misunderstand how iCloud app sharing would work?

Thread Starter

Perhaps I misunderstood the presentation of iCloud and the

Mac App Store.

I thought that if you shared a single iCloud account across

devices -- say desktop and laptop -- whatever App Store

purchases you downloaded on one device would automatically

populate to the other.

So, say for instance, I purchased GROWL on my desktop, it

would automatically download to my laptop.

Did I totally misunderstand this?  Because none of my purchased

apps are syncing across my devices.

In a related question, if I just go to the Mac App store on my

second device, will those programs be available to download?

Thanks

I know my iOS apps sync across platforms I did have to turn it on.

I don't think they automatically sync, you have to manually choose e to dl them from the MAS.

Ron,
On your 2nd device (mac) go the the App Store and under Purchases you should see the app. Install it from there.

Right, but he thought it would auto download on all devices. It doesn't work that way.

Yet.

Yet.

I wouldn't want that -- for instance XCode is like a 4GB install -- why would I want it to auto-install on my home theater Mac?

I wouldn't and don't want it on iOS either but there are people who do....
