Blue Jeans Cable Education Series

Hi Everyone,

Like we did with Joe Kane, we are starting up some "Education Series" from folks that are experts in their area.

A very popular thread in HTF has been the question what is the difference between a $17 and a $150 HDMI cable?

When we saw that this was such an interesting topic, we decided to go to our own backyard and meet Kurt Denke who has been a long time contributor to HTF and is an expert in about everything cable.

This is the start of the education series, but before we start with real education on cables, we thought everyone might like to get to know Kurt.  We have two videos in this thread, one as an introduction about Kurt and how Blue Jeans cable came about and the second on an interesting story of David and Goliath.

We have more videos lined up regarding more information on what is the difference between a $17 and $150 HDMI cable among interesting information on other types of cable.

Enjoy!

I can understand 'Monster Cable' being able to trademark those two words when joined to name their company, but not the single word 'monster', the use of which they sued a miniature golf club?.........confused.gif
Logic follows that Universal could sue MC for including the word 'monster' in their name, and the estates of Rogers and Hammerstein could go after them for hijacking 'Cable' (as in Lieutenant Joe...).
