Are you interested in Ultrabooks?

I think that form factor matters. I bought one of the first netbooks and took it back to costco the same week. It sucked. I learned form factor matters but so do performance and execution, lesson learned.

I wanted a Macbook Air gen 1 but couldn't afford it at the time, so waited till Gen 2 and I can say that the 13" MBA is truly the best computer I have ever owned. I use it as much or more than my Mac Pro and 17" MBP. Every bit of power I need, 100x the portability.

I am excited to see this come to the PC world in a big way this week so those who haven't gotten on the MBA bandwagon will see why the form factor rules.

We will see a TON of Ultrabook announcements this week.

Still trying to get a video of this AM's not-a-keynote, but here's a good, if skeptical, review:

The flood of advertising will be insane. Think dancing bunny suit insane.

It seems to me that the ultrabooks are going to be an accurate answer to the MacBook Air remains to be seen whether they have the style of these. One thing is for sure the price is much lower with the same capabilities.
A brand that has always known class creating computers is Asus.
I found the analysis to two new books in http://mixandbrowse.tk/ultrabooks-the-new-hype/ that seem to explain well with what we can hope level of equipment.

I started reading around – as one review put it, “"the underside sees temperatures that are best reserved for hot asphalt rather than a notebook. We can’t put this more delicately: when its processor is pushed, the Series 9 can become a dangerously hot nut roaster. "
