Android Tablet Universal Remote

I got a Samsung 10 Android tablet for Christmas. My next project is to incorporate a universal remote on it to control my home theater system. I have looked on-line at the Logitech Harmony, iRule, and RedEye. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or one that you would suggest?

Thanks!

I forgot one detail I should have included with the logitech... Logitech sells a Harmony Link that sends the ir signal via a separate piece of hardware.

If anyone has any experience with the Logitech Harmony Link, iRule or RedEye I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Thanks!

Like you, I am looking to use an Android based tablet to be a uinversal remote. In searching the LogiTech support forums apparently they DO NOT SUPPORT ANDROID ON TABLETS AS OF 1-24-2012!

They will support use of the software on iPad and Android on the phones but NOT on tablets.

A real shame as I would have purchased the Harmony but not now. They have lost my business for any universal remote as my needs have grown past the 90's need of one remote to control all A/V. My family and I need a universal DEVICE that enables me to surf the internet to find information that I think of based on the content I watch or listen to.

You have found some other of the companies and products I have found but have not purchased. Below is the link to the Logitech support site on this subject. This is only one thread there about Android tablet support. Clearly the folks at Logitech have determined the iPad's loss of market share to 57.6% and Android's increase to 39.1% starting nearly two years later is not significant.

BTW, I forgot to mention it won't run on the latest Android phone OS either, even the one designed for it according to the post on Logitech.

Just looked into the VIZIO product as well, busy day researching. The end game on that is they don't claim support for ANY A-V equipment.

You want to know what applications it will play?
Jim Boyles: I want to know what physical Audio and Video devices the Remote Control App can support. It would be useless if I can't run what I have.
Justin: You would need to test it with the devices. That is the only way to guarantee it will work with the devices.

One more tablet/remote app down
