Umm... none of them is released by Universal.

I´m German, so let me clear things up a little bit...

1) Death Hunt -starring Charles Bronson is not a Universal film. It´s a Fox film so the title thread is false!

2) Stick-starring Burt Reynolds is a Universal film. In Germany another firm released it who got the rights from Universal. The DVD is terrific and has a better picture quality than the US-DVD which is only a DVD-R and not an official release.

3) Nighthawks-starring Sylvester Stallone is a film by Universal. In Germany another firm released it as well.

The problem which is discussed in Germanys most famous forum(Cinefacts) is whether the upcoming Blu-rays are real High Definiton transfers or just upscales.

I can tell you that the DVD´s of "Death Hunt" and "Stick" look absolutely fine to me. I didn´t own "Nighthawks".

By the way, at the end of January another Bronson movie(From Noon Till Three") will be released on Blu-ray in Germany by Koch Media.

Koch Media posted one screenshot on "Cinefacts forum" and the picture quality is better than the very good japanese DVD!
