Possible Malware? "Facebook People Search App" window on my Mac

I tried doing an address search for a relative and a window popped up "behind" my Safari screen for this ad:

 

"Try our Facebook People Search App...Who's Friending You?  Find Out>"  (there's more text, but you get the idea.

The top line of the window says "People Search & Background Check" (where this window says "New Thread in Apple and Macintosh")

 

I have my pop-up blocker enabled and I am afraid to "close" the window using the "red" icon.

 

I have tried force-closing Safari and shutting down my Mac.  It seems to go away until I click on the Safari icon and it automatically pops up again.  Tried searching for info here and on Apple's support site and found nothing.  Any suggestions?

Not familiar with that one, good luck!

More importantly, what site were you going to when you got it? Tell THEM!
