Certain Movies Not Playing in 3.2.1

Hello All,
Total newbie to this site, so not sure if I am posting this in the forum, but here goes. I am having a problem with several Disney/Pixar movies and as the title of this thread says, they are not playing in surround as I would expect. First, the problem children: Harman Kardon AVR 300 reciever, Pioneer DV-410V DVD player, the movies Cars, Up and Wall.E. The link between the receiver and DVD player is a coax cable, don't ask me what brand, but I bought it at a hi-fi shop and should be of good quality. At the very least it was expensive. Anyway, I'll put the movies into the DVD player, press play and everything is okay, the receiver is in Dolby Digital 3.2.1 through all of the trailers and pre-movie garbage. The movie starts and then the receiver toggles over 2/0 with both the Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic indicators lit up. I will press the the DD button on the front of the receiver and the Pro Logic switches off, but it still will play in the 2/0 mode the rest of the movie. I don't know if it's the receiver, DVD player, coax cable or the movies causing this. The movie Monsters, Inc. (also a Pixar movie) plays perfectly in DD 3.2.1, what gives? Has anybody else experienced this or am I the only one? Any input will be very much appreciated
Thanks,
Adam.

My sister and brother-in-law got me the HBO mini-series "The Pacific" for Christmas and it plays perfectly in Dolby Digital 3/2.1, not sure what the issue is. The three Pixar movies are not pirated either, premium copies from Circuit City/Best Buy.

Did you check the DVD menu to see if you need to select DD 5.1?

To tell you the truth I never checked that. I'm so used to the machine toggling back and forth between the different speaker modes that I never bothered to check that. I'll give it a try, thank you.
