Showtime posted the full first episode online to help hook audience (I understand this to be "edited" and does not contain.. uh.. full content ;)

Cheadle's character's family and work life are kinda entertaining in the show. Fantastic butt on Dawn Olivieri.

I have to say, Showtime has a great potential comedy block with Shameless, House of Lies and Californication Back to Back.

I'd seen this already (on the Borgia's S1 Set) but I have to say this is a show that has a great (wrong) concept.   I thought the first episode was great; seeing Kristen Bell back on TV (Sarah Marshall IS Business Consultant) was good stuff, and the dialog has a real "snappy" feel to it.  Lots of potential for zany/screwball action

Well, this is definitely going for the sex-com comedy market; but the funny thing is, when it works, it's pretty damn funny.   The entire sequence of him trying to close the deal at the airport was a riot, and I admit, I kept thinking about the Vanilla Extract joke all morning.

Cheadle really sells this, and casting him and Kristen Bell as leads really pays off

Funny episode, and Cat Deeley sopping up hot coffee in one's lap? 2 snaps up with a twisted sister!

So.. that just happened.

Indiana...

Let's just not talk about this ever again.

Some great zingers in this ep

It may be very Saved By The Bell, but I love the freeze-frame and NFL scripting as Cheadle's character describes the motivations of everyone around him.. at times, it's DAMN funny.

Anyone think KB used a stunt foot for her scene, yeah, that scene.

Full points.

OK, come on, Kristen Bell dancing in some see-through material?   Actually, I really liked the story that Cheadle's character and his son are developing; it's coming off better then I expected, and you could feel the rage at the absentee mom there.   Everyone's in it for themselves, and his character is just slightly better at multitasking his personal life then his ex.

I am waiting for the engagement bombshell to blow up in her face, because you know it's coming.

It's hard to go wrong when Kristen Bell is on the screen so much.   A little bit on the gross side this week, with the hotel chain looking to figure out where they needed to go, but the pitch meeting was hilarious.

Just started watching. Great new show. Cheadle is awesome (as he is in everything) and who doesn't like Bell?

I am also liking Clyde as well. Good stuff!

Now has a perm home on my DVR.

It's one of those comedies that has really surprised me with how well I think it plays the off the wall nature of business consultants.  As someone who has sat through more then a few of these management consultant meetings, I have to tell you, there are a few episodes where they SO nail the issue it kills me.   The CFO "How did you get those figures.."  DOH!   I've been in a meeting that went exactly that way, though there wasn't a recovery just a "well, we used..." and that was it; once it was pointed out that the one number was calculated wrong, they might as well have left.

Cheadle is solid in his role.  You're right on Clyde, his entire storyline has had some hilarious moments.

Thread revival!

Best ep of the season, IMO. The show has been solidly amusing, but mostly light. Sort of like Entourage (the early years) but without much of a direction. Last night, the show had the right combination of long term plot lines coming together (the merger plus the loss of the Pfizer account), a believable setting to frame the episode (the meet and greet), a concise episode storyline (the set up of the Marty-replacement Harvard grad), inside jokes (HBS! and the racial and gender stereotypes), revelations about characters (Kristin Bell hopping into bed with the managing partner to save her career) and comedy (Marty's team working on their clones). There was even a call back on the child custody plot.

I didn't think this show had much of a direction early, but it all came together last night and it was all part of a plan. Great stuff!

Yeah, I was dying at certain moments of this.   The show has been well cast and week in/week out, very funny

One of best shows on TV right now. Wish it were an hour long.

Yeah, I'm eager to see Marty get some revenge.  But the 1/2 hour format is perfect.  The comparison to Entourage is a good one.. it has that early vibe that show had.. before it imploded.  Kristen Bell week after week knocks it out of the park
