What's it do? What does one do with Xbox Live when not on an Xbox?

I clicked that link and maybe because I dont have xbox I dont know what it is.

Ok, here's the thing:

 

On iOS:

 

Allows you to read mail and messages sent to you through XBOX Live Network

Allows you to check your point totals, gamertag, etc. and alter your avatar

Your reports on others who are in your group, etc.

 

on WP7:

The above plus stream game content to phone/use phone as controller/secondary info

Purchase titles on XBOX marketplace for phone & XBOX

 

It's just a companion app.  Nice for both platforms.  Not for Android (ATM)

Ah. I don't pay for Live and haven't touched my Avatar in 3 years

 

(Wouldn't mind getting into online gaming again, but other distractions distract from this potential distraction :)

Not much more that I could have posted other than what I did, there is a companion app for iOS, it doesn't actually do a whole lot yet.
