New Projectors

Hello, first post here!

I'm ready to spend about $1,500 on an HD projector - But I'm wondering if I should wait for the next season of new projectors to come out before I make my purchase. Have the new line of fall projectors already come out yet? Are there any in the works that are really worth waiting for?

Thanks!

By the way, for around $1,500 the LG's AF115 looks like the best bet for the buck - am I wrong?

It depends on what you need and which projectors will work with your room(throw distance, screen size, etc.).

1) Do you want LCD or DLP?

2) Do you want 3D?

3) Will you use a ceiling mount or a rear shelf?

Greetings

There will always be something better if you keep waiting. And waiting and waiting and waiting. 3 years ... 5 years ... 10 years ...

There won't be any revolutionary product at $1500 that suddenly exceeds the performance of the $10000 stuff.

I saw the new Epson 3d projector out at Best Buy and it has been selling for around $1500. Looks really nice, but some reports of gaming lag has put me off it a bit. The new Optoma DLP 3d just came out as well.

13FT Ceiling mounted - Don't care about 3D (if its included, great). Will be watching blu-ray and gaming.

I guess my question is, around when do the new line of projectors come out? Game development usually waits until November-December for new releases.

You need to decide between LCD and DLP. New projectors normally come out in Sep. or Oct.

I also think 3d is not needed.
You might want to wait till CES to see whats gonna be new and upcoming and decide then. I know there are some "gaming" full size projectors which always get good reviews as they are made more specifically to handle all the things gamers need.
