The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

--ONE EXTRA NOTE THIS WEEK (special thanks to the owners of the forum for allowing me this blatant plug!).

I'd like to let all my regular readers know about a new book written by author Peggy Frezon (my wife!) that is new to amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, and BarnesandNoble.com

Dieting With My Dog:  One Busy Life, Two Full Figures and Unconditional Love is my wife's tale of her weight-loss journey spurred-on by our cocker spaniel mix, Kelly.

Studies show that more than half the dogs and cats in the US are overweight...along with many of their owners!  Many of us know how tough it is to lose weight.  My wife decided we needed to make some changes in our lifestyle, diet and exercise porograms after she heard the list from Kelly's veterinarian of all the health risks associated with the dog's extra weight.  It was then she realized she had heard a similar list from her own doctor..but had been ignoring it.  So, things changed pretty drastically in our household and I'm just one of the benfactors having lost nearly 50 pounds!  This is NOT a how-to book...but a memoir of my wife's and dog's journey (on which I was also along for the ride!) as they inspired each other to get fit and healthy together.

Dieting With My Dog is also available as a Kindle download on amazon.com.

And, yes, that's our dog Kelly on the cover of the book!  biggrin.gif

Thanks for the roundup Mike and congratulations to not only you, your wife and Kelly for getting fit, but for writing about it.  Its getting some great reviews on Amazon too, all *****.

Slow week for me this week.  I'm interested in Dragons since I really enjoyed How To Train Your Dragon.

Just Farscape on Blu this week.

Thanks as always Mike, and congrats on your wife's book!
Since I can seemingly never own enough versions of either Metropolis or Evil Dead 2, those are both on pre-order. May blind-buy the Three Colors trilogy and Rules of the Game from the B&N sale also.

For anyone who might be interested: Fry's has the Tom Cruise Blu-Ray collection advertised for $19.99

Thanks as always for the round-up!
Wow, congratulations to your wife (and your dog) on the book, Mike! And thank you for this week's round-up. Definitely will be picking up My Fair Lady but still unsure of West Side Story.
Three Colors at B&N! biggrin.gif
Congrats on the book!

In spite of the very lackluster reviews here for the "West Side Story" and "My Fair Lady" BDs I've just *got* to pick up both. They'll still be better than the DVDs, and replacement discs are already promised by the studio for the latter.

The "Farscape" BD release intrigues me. I haven't purchased any Farscape since the Starburst Editions and if nothing else this will be a great way to save some shelf space. Plus my Panny blu-ray player balks on a few seconds of one of the DVD-18s from the third set of Season One. I'll probably have to eventually pick this up.

Hey Mike,

When looking at the Best Buy add online for me the first seven Harry Potter films on Blu-Ray showed as $9.99 for me. Just thought I would see if your's is showing different or if it was just a typo.

Thanks on working on all the prices and links!

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike, and congratulate Peggy on her new book! Looks like a fun read.

I'll have the review for Three Colors trilogy up later today. I'm working on Red this afternoon.

I wish you great success with the book.  As a woman who wants to look her best after the holidays (the pounds start to add up Thanksgiving to New Years!)  I will be purchasing this book along with West Side Story and My Fair Lady.

Have a great week everyone!

I'll be picking up Evil Dead II this week.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

Thanks, Jeremy!  That IS a typo indeed!  And an awful one at that. thumbsdown.gif   It has been changed in the OP!

The early HP blus at BB are definitely $9.99 apiece.

i have been reading that thread, where does it say that CBS/Paramount are planning a disc replacement?

Mike,

Congrats on your wife's book!

Not a roundup title, but Amazon's gold box item today is Firefly: The Complete Series.   The Blu-ray is on sale for $18.99 and the DVD is on sale for $14.99. An outstanding price for an outstanding series and worth a blind buy if you haven't seen it before.

Joseph is referring to West Side Story.  They are going to be fixing most of the problems for the second pressing.  I haven't heard if there will be a trade in program.

adam and mike thank you both, i get something for me, WSS and my wife is going to love that book as a Christmas present, biggrin.gif

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Adam. I've been wanting to upgrade to the Blu, but never seem to catch it when it's on sale. Thanks to you, I finally have. And, thanks to you too, Mike for the continued great work on the RoundUp!

Wal-Mart has "Titanic" 3d on pre-order for $19.99. For April 2012.
Pretty busy week for me as I'll be adding the Three Colors Trilogy and Rules of the Game. I may also pick up the Looney Tunes and My Fair Lady. I'm waiting on West Side Story.

I'm also tempted by the Firefly deal. I've seen Serenity (and thought it was ok), but not the series. Is the series better and did it come to some kind of end or are you left hanging?

Thanks a bunch, as always, Mike.  And congrats to Mrs. Mike on the book (and to you for dropping the extra pounds)!

I'm really tempted on Firefly since nothing else is calling my name this week.  We'll see if resistance is futile after an early dinner (yeah, I know it's the wrong sci fi franchise...)...

Thanks to everyone for all the nice words about the book!

I forgot to mention an HTF connection with the book.  HTFer Ric Easton--who has been working hard at work lately and absent a bit from the forum (I can vouch for this!)--took the cover photo!

Ric is one of a a handful of HTFers I have met in the flesh and I think he did a great job getting that picture of Kelly (and those really are Peg's legs, too)!  thumbsup.gif

If you want to see some of Ric's great art work designing custom DVD/Blu covers...check out HERE.

Matt's review of the blu-ray of the Three Colors Trilogy (Criterion) is just up and now linked-to in the OP.  thumbsup.gif

Nothing controversial about this release (unlike WSS or MFL).  Matt's giving it very high grades.

Have you sold the movie rights yet?

When is it coming to DVD?

Congrats on the book!  Sounds like wonderful achievements all around.  I need to follow in a few of these footsteps.

I've already put in my request for Scarlett Johansson to play my wife in the film.  And while I figure that I should play myself in the film, my wife is thinking that Brad Pitt might be a better choice.

I guess that's only fair...  tongue.gif

But who should play Kelly our dog?!?

If we are basing the casting on your HTF thread activity, then Lindsay Lohan. smiley_wink.gif

She DOES have the right color hair...  biggrin.gif

But Peg says that's not fair to our dog.

She has a good point.
