The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Its going to be a Disney 3D week for me this week.  I'm interested in watching Atlas Shrugged even though there probably won't be a part 2 or 3. but I'm not sure if its something worth owning or just a rental. I've pre-ordered Cannonball Run and I'll be picking up Sharkboy and Lavagirl for the kids.

Thanks Mike!

Definitely a Harry Potter week for me and maybe the new Lego game.  I spent way too much today and might rethink the game, at least.  Thanks Mike!

Mike just a reminder B&N Criterion sale still ongonig 50% off msrp for fanny and alexander

Just a Potter 3D combo pack at BB for me. Thanks for the roundup.
So glad BB has the $40 off on the four Disney 3D titles making it easier for me to get all 4. And depending on the packaging for the final Potter 3D, I might be getting those too. Thanks for the roundup Mike!

Why no BB or Target price on Blue Velvet?
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2 Target version with documentary When Harry Left Hogwarts. I normally don't go for the exclusive extras, but this one looks interesting to me.

Thanks for the prices! It helps so much since we don't get the weekly paper.

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike. Starting on Fanny and Alexander today after I finish up Rawhide, but the review won't be up for F&A until late tomorrow night. With the 6 hour TV version and the 3 hour theatrical version plus feature length documentaries on the film and its maker, it's going to take a lot of time to get through it all.

I'll wear Blue Velvet this week. Also, I'll nab the last Harry Potter movie.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

I can't speak for Mike but there's not much point of even listing prices if they're not in the ad. Best Buy has it for $25 (the MSRP) and Target has it for $16.79 but they don't carry it in store. I realize that catalog titles aren't big sellers for big box stores (especially something as relatively small as Blue Velvet) but I've given up on even looking at ads let alone buying catalog titles at BB and Target.

It's been a long time since I've answered a question like this.  So, there's no time like the present!

No surprise that I get amazon's prices from their website.  That, after all, is where they live.  If Best Buy lists a new release title in their flyer...THAT's the price that makes the RoundUp.  If not, the prices each week come from BestBuy.com.  All Target prices come solely from the Target flyer.

I could not find a price for Blue Velvet at bb.com when I was putting the WRU together.  And, it wasn't listed in the Target flyer.

Seeing as how bb.com is now showing the Blue Velvet at $24.99 (thanks, Travis!), I'll add it to the OP.

Little Big Man on Bluray for me.
Little Big Man, what a great film.
I will pick up Harry Potter, but I'm not sure from where. I'm intrigued by the Target exclusive version. Does anyone know anymore about the documentary on it?

I plan to get Fanny & Alexander at some point and the Hitchcock set.
Target's website says, about the exclusive documentary, "BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Morgan Matthews has been given unprecedented access to the creative decision making processes that have been kept as a closely guarded secret - until now. Hear the personal stories of the faces we know, and those we don't, as we come to the end of one of the most successful eras in cinema history. "

I personally am in for the Target exclusive, not only for the documentary but also for the cover art. That poster was awesome and I am glad they used it. Come to think of it, all the teaser posters for the Potter films have been superrior to most of the DVD art from Prisoner of Azkaban onwards. Wish they would use those more.

Here's an article on When Harry Left Hogwarts, and a trailer for the film:

Looks very interesting. Thanks for posting, I will be adding it to this week's haul.

That Harry Potter doc--available at Target--does look pretty darn good.

But I'm not sure it's worth an extra $5.

But it might be.

Hmmmmm.

The good news: The Rush t-shirt included with the Best Buy BD is XL (according to the listing on the website).

The bad news: It says "RASH" on it.

It's kind of funny when Geddy Lee wears it on stage, but I'm not sure it's something I want to walk around in. . .

Cameron's review of the blu of the final Harry Potter movie is now linked-to in the OP.

I am really looking forward to that.  I saw it in IMAX 3-D (my first viewing of that kind) and it knocked my socks off.

Don't quote me on this but, according to some other site, it may be $5 cheaper next week.

Hmmmm.  It wouldn't be without precedent, Marvin...but everything I'm seeing is still pointing at a price of $27.99 for that exclusive at Target next week...

But from your lips...

Actually it looks like you are correct on this one. Sorry about that.

Bummer.  I was hoping.

I misspoke before when I wondered if that Target Exclusive would be worth $5 more than the regular combo pack.  But it's only $5 more than the combo pack at Target.  It's actually $8 more than what the reg. combo pack will cost at amazon or Best Buy.

For that reason, I doubt I'll be getting the Target exclusive.  I find I don't have a lot of time for bonus features.

If they lower the price, which I would be surprised if they do, I would take back my original purchase. Then purchase again at the lower price. Or see if they would just match and give me a refund for the difference. Usually one is rewarded to a point for getting it during release week since they offer the best sale and want a good showing in sales first week. I know the price may drop way down the line. But, I would rather grab it now than take my chances of it disappearing later.
