WINGS: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1206
Music by J. S. Zamecnik
Arranged and Orchestrated by Dominik Hauser
Limited Edition of 2000 Units
In honor of Paramount Pictures' 100th Anniversary, La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures present J.S. Zamecnik's original score, arranged and orchestrated by Dominik Hauser, to the very first Academy Award for Best Picture, the sensational 1927 WWI-set epic drama/adventure WINGS, starring Clara Bow, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers, Richard Arlen and Gary Cooper, and directed by William A. Wellman. When it was decided to restore the classic WINGS for the studio's centennial, Paramount Pictures commissioned a new arrangement of J.S. Zamecnik's original score (originally played live to picture) to be newly recorded for the film. A prolific composer for films during the silent era, this release marks the very first time that an album’s worth of any Zamecnik score has ever been recorded and released. Hauser brings Zamecnik's original score, rich in dramatic, romantic and action material, (as well as peppered with classical compositions), to life in all of its robust, thematic splendor. This music, much like the film's phenomenal aerial sequences, simply soars to exciting heights. Produced by Dan Goldwasser, with music and album assembly produced by Jeannie Gayle Pool and Dominik Hauser, and mastered by James Nelson, this special release is limited to 2000 units. Jeannie Gayle Pool, who was asked to produce this full score restoration for Paramount, brings you behind the scenes of that process in her in-depth liner notes. What better way to commemorate a historic film restoration than to release a piece of film music history!
GALAXY QUEST: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1208
Music by David Newman
Limited Edition of 3000 Units
La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures presents the premiere official soundtrack release of the original motion picture score to the 1999 Dreamworks sci-fi action/comedy GALAXY QUEST, starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell and directed by Dean Parisot. Acclaimed composer David Newman (SERENITY, SCOOBY DOO, ICE AGE, THE PHANTOM) pulls off an impressive musical feat, employing a comic touch while skillfully supporting the film’s legitimate, considerable sci-fi action and well-drawn character relationships. Newman continues in the rich tradition of the Newman family musical legacy, composing a score that employs big choral passages and wondrous melodic themes. Released previously only as a composer-produced promo CD, this official, longer and remastered edition, produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, sounds stellar and features exclusive liner notes by film music writer Tim Greiving. This is a limited edition of 3000 units.

A rich, complex and important work in the Newman cannon, this powerful score injects heart into this film’s large canvas while masterfully propelling its drama and spectacle. Studio head Darryl Zanuck said it best at the time, “I wish I could find some way to tell you that this is the greatest score ever written without sounding like the publicity department – but it is.” Produced by Nick Redman, restored by Mike Matessino and mastered by Daniel Hersch, this remastered and expanded 2-CD SET sounds magnificent, is slightly longer than previous releases and features insightful liner notes from writer Julie Kirgo. An inseparable component of SPEED’s success, Mancina’s full-throttle, iconic score not only punched the film’s action into overdrive, but it has served as a template for action film scoring ever since. Produced by Nick Redman and Mike Matessino and edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, this special remastered and expanded version of SPEED presents its tracks in film order, includes the end titles song, “Speed” performed by Billy Idol, and features in-depth, exclusive liner notes by film music writer John Takis. JENNIFER 8: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1198
Music by Christopher Young and Maurice Jarre
Limited Edition of 2000 Units
La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures presents a special 2-CD SET of two original scores to the 1992 Paramount Pictures motion picture thriller JENNIFER 8, starring Andy Garcia, Uma Thurman, and Lance Henriksen and written and directed by Bruce Robinson. Disc One features acclaimed composer Christopher Young’s (HELLRAISER, RUNAWAY JURY, THE CORE, DRAG ME TO HELL) original score – considered to be the composer’s breakthrough work in terms of scoring films for major studios. For this release, Young has re-visited his career-making score and has provided a new, magnificent 48 minute assembly – creating the ultimate presentation of his haunting and beautiful work, a melodic and atmospheric score that injects the film with suspense and human emotion. Disc Two presents renowned composer Maurice Jarre’s (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE PROFESSIONALS, GHOST, A WALK IN THE CLOUDS) unused original score to the same film. Jarre scored about 75% of the film before his music was replaced with Young’s score. About 40 minutes of Jarre’s score is presented here and fans will be delighted to finally have this previously unreleased work, which is in the vein of his music for WITNESS and GHOST. In total, this release is a fascinating look at two different scoring approaches by two immensely talented composers. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Mike Matessino, this limited edition release of 2000 Units includes in-depth, exclusive liner notes by film music writer Jeff Bond.
THE MECHANIC: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1191
Music by Jerry Fielding
Limited Edition of 1200 Units
La-La Land Records presents composer Jerry Fielding’s (STRAW DOGS, THE ENFORCER, THE GAUNTLET, SEMI-TOUGH) classic original action score to the legendary 1972 MGM action-thriller THE MECHANIC, starring Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent and directed by Michael Winner. An atmospheric marvel of sonic textures and experimental approaches, Fielding’s chilling score truly is the stone-cold-heart of this classic hitman/apprentice tale. Aside from perfectly capturing action and suspense, Fielding’s score gives the film a depth and resonance beyond its celluloid. Aside from some audio enhancements, a slightly different track order and new packaging and liner notes, the audio content is the same as the Intrada release, so this re-issue is geared for fans who do not currently own that previous release. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton and mastered by James Nelson, this release features in-depth, exclusive liner notes by film music writer Randall D. Larson. This is a limited edition of 1200 units.
