Will I get a better picture if I use componenet cables instead of a composite one for the same...

Ok, so I've done some swapping around of some TVs after upgrading my main one, and I have been left with a 720p HD LCD plugged into an analogue hard drive recorder and dvd player. Both the box and the TV have composite and component video jacks. If I use the component for video, I will get the progressive 480p digital DVD signal on the TV, am I right? But will I get an increase in the quality of the old analouge TV broadcast signal (they still have that in New Zealand). I already "zoom" the picture to avoid stretching, but will colour depth or contrast or what not be better? Maybe even the upscaling ability of the TV if it has more "bandwidth" to work with?confused.gif Thanks, Kurt.

Component is a better conection than composite so it should result in a better picture. And yes, component can do 480P (and 720P but not 1080P). It's been a while since I used analog for video but as I recall component always did everything better than composite.
