I see now. Although I did not feel so young when remembering those times. smile.gif

Right! What he said. No offense, just a quip (and apparently lame). I apologize for giving offense.

Really cool pseudo-interview with Bill Willingham in regards to whether Once ripped off his Fables series or not.

So, I'm a bit confused. Did Snow White (the fairy tale version) in the previous episodes fall in love with Prince Charming or his twin brother? If it was the real Prince Charming she fell for, then have she and his replacement even met? Obviously in the Storybrooke scenario, it's the twin she loves since he's the one who married out of duty instead of love, but I'm not seeing a clear connection in the fairy tale realm, at least not yet.

Did anyone catch the bottle of alcohol that Emma and Snow shared was a nod to Lost (& Widmore guesting)?

I'm pretty sure it was the same brand shared a few times in Lost as a plot point.

The twin in terms of the timing of their first meeting and fighting over the contents of his bag of jewels (true love's ring).

No big deal!  Just got thrown off with the word. smile.gif

Yes, as the twin went off to his wedding, Snow attacked and we got the events of that earlier episode. I don't remember if Old King Widmore died in that ep, but we can hope.

I keep meaning to talk about this week's episode. Quite good, really. That's the Robert Carlyle I know, and you're just not going to go wrong with Brad Dourif ever. The scene where Rump went evil was more effective and believable than Palpy or Anakin's respective turns. Carlyle.

Yes, I really enjoyed this backstory. And, for a change, the plot in Storybrooke held my interest and featured an interesting twist.

A few things I didn't like was how they never explained what the 'Dark One' was, or how it aquired magical powers. Then when Rumple goes all dark side he decides to use a dagger to kill a bunch of guards. No magic whatsoever. Earlier on in the season we saw him eviscerate a fairy, and he seems like a bad ass, not so much when simply using a dagger.

Also, it was never explained why he needs someone to agree to a contract. Also, how is Emma in any way, shape or form qualified to fill the position of Deputy Sheriff, let alone Sheriff ? She has zero qualifications of the job. Does she even have weapons training, since it would stand to reason she would have access to a firearm ? With her red jacket and boots, flashing her badge as if she earned it. Yeah right.

OUAT an ass I am for not reminding Lost fans who maybe don't tune in every week that Emilie de Ravin guested this week. Good episode. Now we know for sure that one other character is in on the town's secret.

She was a bounty hunter previously, which is tangentally related to law enforcement.

I laughed out loud at the line, "I'm not sure you should be taking medical advice from a guy who got his license from an axe." The intro was incredibly girly--I could feel my testosterone levels dropping as I watched.

The image of the ladies in their respective red and white hoods, walking out of the snowy woods, was stunning. Ruby's line upon finding the box--"What am I supposed to be looking for?"--was bizarre. Um, a recently buried ornate box might be it. I never cared much for Ruby with all of her makeup, but she looked amazing at the the end with all of that washed off. I'm liking this show now.

Next week is the finale. If, is as expected and warranted by the ratings, this is renewed, I kind of hope it makes the show a "done in two." Restated, I don't want it to be season five and everyone still doesn't know who they are and what's going on. If they can lift the curse in the second season and take things in a different and interesting direction for a third season and beyond, fine.

To be honest, I hope the curse does indeed get broken and the series reverts to the Fairy Tale World permanently. The variations on the tales we've grown up with have been so clever and so interesting that the flights each week back to Storybrooke often make me impatient.

Can you actually see ABC doing that?
I'm not sure. Are you saying ABC plays it safe and doesn't like to shake things up? I don't watch enough of their shows to know.

I don't mind the balance between Storybrooke and the fairy tale world, but I just don't want them to keep everyone in the dark. I would assume Henry's actions will push Emma towards believing, but I don't watch spoilers so she may just take it as Regina trying to poison her and hitting Henry instead.

I think they'll keep going with the current idea of adding new "past" characters until the show just runs out of steam (which i'd guess will be 3 seasons). I just hope when they get cancelled they have enough of a warning to properly wrap it up. I do hope the writers have an ending in mind (unlike most shows which just seem to wing it for the series finale)

Renewed. Like love on the rocks, ain't no big surprise.
Now that's the way to do a finale. About the only thing left on the table was the fate of Pinocchio, and we go into next season with a totally new status quo.

Yes, I loved the finale which gives rise to so much speculation about where the series will go next season. Terrific!

I could be wrong but I think it's pretty clear that they are going to stay in Storybrook and now the magic has come to them. Judging from that diabolical smile on Regina's face, she understood the significance of the purple mist that was sweeping over the town.

Yeah, that was clear, but we're still not sure what that will look like. Maybe Storybrooke is now on the radar from normal people and they will interact with the fairy tale characters. More interesting will be if they still have their memories of being regular Americans on top of being storybook characters, which I assume is the case.

After the curse was broken everyone was dazed as their memories returned, but they didn't seem to be completely lost to their surroundings leading me to believe they retained their memories of events during the curse, in fact the nurses in the hospital continued their duties.

Had they been cancelled, I suspect they would have just cut out the last few minutes of the episode. would have been a great series finale.
