Ringer Season 1 (CW) - Page 2

Well, I'm assuming that Gemma sleeps with the fishes after that wall-blood spatter behind him.

So, apparently no caveats about cast changes early!

Now, it being a soap opera, Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I presume that Gemma faked her murder to punish her husband.
I'm not sure how it'll work out, but I think I'm closer to Hugh here. Why are we spoilering this when it happened on the show already? smile.gif Anyway, if he did kill her, he's the worst murderer ever. She called Andrew, he came over, guy who earlier had said in a public place that she wouldn't get away with it was acting all shifty, and the UV bars will find the residue on the walls and floors.

More surprises tonight and no new episode next week.

It's such rompy fun :)

Why did she take off the gloves and leave a print? Does she want to get caught? "Now you can feed your family for a month." BURN! And I loved how they followed it up with the girl throwing the money at her and she didn't even bother to pick it up. She'll probably end up ruining Logan's life when she either ends up in bed with him (he's an adult and the teacher, so it's really him bringing it on himself if he does it) or gets mad when he says no. That might be a different show where she's the focus and not support, however.

That whole hand/glove thing was perplexing.

I thought it was a bit weird, but maybe she wants to make them think that Bridget was there and now has fled after being involved in Gemma's death.

Crazy show! This and Revenge are (I'll never feel) Guilty Pleasures :)

For the first four episodes of Ringer I thought it was a fairly good show. What drew me to it was not Sarah Michelle Gellar (not a fan of her. Wasn't a Buffy fan either), but the film noir-style plot.

The close-up shots in the boat scene in the pilot were awful (the farther away shots were better). Liked the Rope homage with the body in the chest though.

However, the fifth episode was the best one so far.

New episode tonight though

With an ending I didn't see coming.

Yeah, that was a wild and twisty end!

I have to admit, I am totally baffled as to what the hell the point of Siobahn's plan is.  It's so convoluted it makes no sense at all, but it's still interesting.   I'm wondering now, though, if a little baby pops up on that monitor (but it's Wards, of course)

It seemed to appear that Siobahn found out that Gemma knew who Bridget was and wanted to make sure she didn't interfere with something. Now, how did she find that out?

For a few minutes in the episode I thought that Machado was going to send someone to Europe who would find Siobahn and think she was Bridget.
If a baby pops up, that will be some seriously stupid shit. "Oh, gee. I didn't know I was pregnant!" I mean, I guess that could work if this whole thing has only been a few days, but I think it's been established that she's been pretending to be Siobahn for weeks at least to this point.

Then again, it can't be that long. I mean, they held Malcolm for a long time, but it couldn't have been weeks and weeks. Maybe the maths will work out. They'd have to--I mean, the writers could figure out something that basic.

I figured that's why they showed the flashback of her and her sponsor.. that would make an african american child quite a shock though

Didn't that say nine months in the past? If so, they didn't keep to their deal.
The best twist was when real Siobhan's mark met Bridget. Funny how the fake sponsor almost told us what he did to Gemma, until real Siobhan stepped over his words.

The biggest WTF for me, though, was the ad for the local news during the program. "Katy Perry isn't the only one who kissed a girl. We explore girl on girl attraction tonight at 9." Images of sexy girls together. WTF? And why am I only learning about this hours after it's over? I've got to start watching the local news. tongue.gif Seriously. WTF.

Edit: It's online. News you can use. http://www.the33tv.com/news/kdaf-women-same-sex-attraction-boise-state-study-story,0,7682002.story

Greg-  SPIT TAKE funny.   I can't imagine anything but the newscasters battling off laughter.  Too bad it's not Youtube, I'd share the hell out of that ;)

OK, that having been said, I LOVED the twist of the dinner, I thought that was a great scene.  Now we have to wonder if Siobahn's plan, whatever it is, is screwed.   Though we are starting to figure it out; her plan somehow involved looting the company by having those records shanghai'd in Europe..

I thought that the looting plan was a contingency plan since Bridget had taken the money out of her secret account. Her full plan still appears to be a mystery. Now, I wonder if Bridget realized just what was going on at the dinner.

I did LOL at the Tyler - Bridget scene at the restaurant (even if Tyler's presence in the overall plot seems to be a convenient reach in terms of his place in Siobahn's husband's business).

Well, we discovered quite a few things:   Gemma is clearly alive and out there.   She's just tied up in someone's basement.. which doesn't particularly make her a friend of anyone I suppose.  And Siobahn was using aliases, meeting people trying to setup something because she suffered from some bad paranoia.. or are you really paranoid if someone is actually out to get you?   We also know why Bridget ran from the FBI, she was basically tipped as a fake out that she needed to run.    Does Siobahn know the drug kingpin in any way?  And is Andrew's business in trouble or just not growing.. that's going to be a big question too.

I figure Gemma would have been soiling her panties being taped down to her chair all those hours. Ick.

So, Siobahn engineered the whole escape - trying to get Bridget to her so she could pull her disappearing act. We still don't know entirely what she has planned though.

I was wondering whether Bridget was going to start investigating Siobahn. The penny should have dropped. She's got to talk to Tyler again.
  • Well, that was a long ride for the audience, just to see Gemma ended. "She knows Siobhan's alive! And now she doesn't."
  • Shiv crosses the Atlantic like I cross my driveway to get mail.
  • Assuming the daughter is setting up the teacher, he's an idiot. You don't rebuff a teenage girl in front of her friend and then speak to her in private.
  • But, I actually think he did rape her, and Bridget will be the only one to believe her, thus strengthening their growing bond.

I tried to get into this show, but for me it is too much of a girly show to watch. It is sort of like Desperate Housewives, Dynasty, etc. in terms of feeling like a late night soap. While I enjoy SMG in most things, playing twins in any show has never been something I liked regardless of male or female roles. It just seems like a very long and boring show for the most part with little going on. In a recent viewer poll the ratings are quite low and it showed females 18-35 were the primary viewers.

I've quite enjoyed it.. it's a slight twist on a muder mystery, and I'm interested to see where it's going.. but who knows if it gets there.  I tended to like the offing of Gemma; I think it helps tie up a loose end in that now the one person who knew Bridget's secret who was in the inner circle is gone.

I'm still not sure how all this shakes out.  :)
