Frankly, this is maybe her best work in years, best since BfP for me.. it has a fantastic classical music feeling, and the use of symphony, woodwinds and sound design are great.

This is going to be a rush out and buy title for me.

Just did a brief sampling, and it sounds absolutely fantastic! I need to check this out in more detail, haven't really listened to Tori for quite a while (since Venus)

Some of the tracks for me are amongst the best she's done.  I love "Cactus Practice" "Night of Hunters" .. actually, the whole album is frankly pretty stunning work.    The more I listen to it, the more I love it.

Holy Cow.   I've been through the album numerous times now.   This is really the first album since maybe either Boys for Pele or Under the Pink that I thought: dead to center home run.

 

Some of the tracks grabbed me right on the first listen (Shattered Sea; Job's Coffin; Seven Sisters; Nautical Twilight..)  

 

But listening to the album as a whole, all the way through, it's one of the best concept albums I've heard.   It took me a couple listens before I realized the similar breaks in "Night of the Hunters" to "Shattered Seas".. the editing and organization of this to tell a seamless story all the way through is incredible work.   Just beautiful.

 

I'm a huge fan, but I'm shocked she had an album like this in her.
