Mystery2012 is working on "Season 3-Volume 1". He sent me a private message and told me this.

Great news!!!

I'm thrilled that CBS will wrap up Vega$ in 2012. Still now sure why you never hear a woman complain about staying at Dan Tannas by pointing out that the place is a garage.

i have yet to see any official announcement from the studio, so i am very skeptical. There has been a few releases that this year, but march looks very light along with February, but April looks like the best month so far in 2012.

Can you tell us when it will be released?
Probably in 4-5 months.

Question on the back of all 4 VEGA$ releases it says these episodes may be edited. what for each release has been edited ?
Nothing looks edited as far as I can tell, but I can't say for sure. Maybe a show tune replaced here and there? Doesn't look like scenes are missing or shortened to me, anyway. Great news today about Season 3 coming in May!

SOLD!!!

Great news! May 8th Season 3-Volume 1 and maybe Volume 2 at the end of the year.

It seems that "Vega$" sold well.

At least we´ll get all seasons of this CBS/Paramount series....-in comparison to many othe CBS/Paramount series(Streets of San Francisco, Barnaby Jones, Cannon, Jake and the Fatman etc.).

I´m still waiting for an announcement of "Matt Houston"-Season 2......

Season 3-Volume 1 is already on the way to me. Planetaxel sent it a couple of hours ago to me.

I´m looking forward especially to the two part episode at the beginning where "Bonanza legend" Lorne Greene played the bad guy.

By the way, this episode takes place in Hawaii.

pernell roberts [Adam on bonanza] was also a bad guy in the episode.

Roberts always made a good bad guy, he's also one in the S1 episode alongside John Marley.

A couple of hours ago I received "Season 3-Volume 1". The picture quality is great.

I took a look at the double episode "Aloah Hawaii" in which Lorne Greene played the bad guy. The Hawaiian scenery looked awesome on the disc.

My review of this new set will go up in an hour or so.

TSoD has posted news stating that Paramount will be releasing the final volume on August 14. banana.gif

Wow! That didn't take long! Wonder why the rush with this one while other series drag on and on? Were sales that good?

I think there is a good following for Vega$, especially when it was only on for three season. I think some of the appeal is that the show was entirely filmed in Las Vegas and included some hot gas/casino views. You add in that Phyllis Davis was hot dished of the time with her texas accent was perfect fit. S1 had Judy Landers as Dan Tanna's secretary.

TVShowsOnDVD news article about Vega$: The Third Season - Volume 2, including final 3D front cover artwork for the half volume set:

Vega$: The Third Season - Volume 2 - TVShowsOnDVD.com news article

Decided to get the first half of the first season on Region 1. What sold it for me was the location, and that Vegas is mostly or wholly filmed on location in Las Vegas. Add to that, former Mission: Impossible actor Greg Morris in the cast.

This may be of interest to Vega$ fans who are also Spenser: for Hire fans, from Warner Archives' facebook page today (5/25/12):

We're working on Season One of HARRY O right now. Hopefully we should have it ready in the next few months. Season Two will follow shortly thereafter. SPENSER is being considered for mass-merchant release, but if that doesn't pan out, we'll be happy to take up the cause for his liberation.

Thanks for the post!

I am glad to hear Harry O is in the works! I was too young to see the show as a kid, but love David Janssen from the Fugitive series. I am glad to hear that we may get some more Robert Ulrich. I have SWAT and Vega$, which start Robert Ulrich. I have to rate Vega$ up there with Rockford Files, Magnum PI, Cannon, Simon & Simon as some of the best PI shows in the 1970s and 1980s. Maybe there is some hope that Whiz Kids will come out as well. I was about the same age as the Whiz Kids characters and love this show, especially remembering the commodore VIC 20 personal computer that we had in the house. Kids today would laugh at what we have for gadgets in the 1980s, especially the cell phone, personal computer, TV, etc!!

thumbsup.gif That's great news about Harry at last, wondering a bit though why they'd consider a Urich show like Spenser For Hire a mass-merchant retail release over a classic Janssen show. They sure make some funny decisions for their TV titles in which goes where, but hey at least they're both coming now and that's all that matters in the end.

i was watching my dirty harry special edition dvd and urich hosted one of the documentary's.

Each of the Dirty Harry movies I like as much as the other (a lot), and Magnum Force, which Robert Ulrich co-starred in with David Soul, was gritty and very entertaining.

The only memory I have of Spenser: Fore Hire was late night repeats of either the series or the post-series TV movies.
