My Sony Wega KD34XBR970 just died.

I'm sad. I loved this set. It had the best black levels ever. It had the best sounding built in speakers. Parts for this set are no longer available. I was thinking about buying a Samsung46" 6000 led. How are black levels? i know I would have to upgrade the sound system. Maybe I will be happy again?

I feel your pain, having owned two XBRs years ago. I now have three Sony LEDs...good blacks, lousy sound but I run all TV audio through good sound systems. Plasma will give you the best blacks, but I can't control the light in the house, which nixes plasma.

Do a search on clouding issues for Samsung LED's and then go buy yourself another Sony.
