The real problem is that while I firmly believe the future set will correct the missing cues from "Not with a Whimper" (they'd be absolute morons if they didn't fix that after going to all this trouble), and perhaps any other spots where something like that happened, I don't know if that would be enough to make someone who got the hold of the recalled set want to double dip. Is it worth it for a few minutes of missing cues? Each person would have to make their own call on something like that. And then, the other thing to keep in mind, is that while I think we'll get some of the missing cues restored, I also believe they'll go back through and eliminate those spots where original juke box/lounge music snuck back in. Everything I know about CBS tells me they are scared to death of that type of music creeping into any set they release. They've either subbed out or cut out scenes where that type of background music is playing on just about all their releases. So I think if/when the new set is released it will be a matter of give and take. They'll give back some of the original backscore accidentally removed, and they take away the numerous juke box/lounge music that was restored in the recalled set. That was surely an oversight/mistake by the monkeys in the mixing studio and I imagine CBS was horrified when they found out much of that music had been reinserted into the recalled set.
Just my two cents, but until I hear or see otherwise I'm sticking with that hypothesis of the situation.
Gary "if the recall was O-N-L-Y about restoring a few missing cues in an episode or two it wouldn't be taking this long to hear something from them, imho" O.
