That is why I haven't picked it up either.

The real reason I didn't pick it up was the division of a one-season series into 2 sets. I was also holding off for a Blu at first, but it became pretty clear that that wasn't happening. Splitting the show's broadcast was a death knell for the series, it was too soon and too complex to break up the development like that. Splitting the DVDs was just offensive, anyone who collected BSG has been through it and had it with that.

I guess the French are more into "thoughtful" science fiction than US audiences. I'll go ahead and pick this up, the French version includes the English audio, and Universal does not use Region restrictions on their Blu-Rays. I'd prefer a domestic release, but I believe Bill Hunt, so I'm not going to wait around.

I don't get Universal sometimes....it's not like there isn't a fanbase for this. I'm sure there's plenty of BSG fans that would be interested in checking this series out. To just release this in France and not in North America is just downright stupid. No way I'm picking up the DVD sets...if they want my money, release the show on domestic Blu-ray.

I said this in another thread but my guess is that Caprica comes out in North America when the new BSG series starts airing.

Universal celebrating its 100th year soon, how about you treat the US, to a US series on blu instead of only letting France get a release

I ended up buying ``Caprica'' (1.0 and 1.5) on DVD a while back from Amazon. I agree that it sucks that U.S. not apparently going to get a Blu-ray set right away, but maybe it'll be released at some point. frown.gif I have to say that I've really been enjoying watching BSG for the first time on the Blu-ray set I bought this summer. Great show.

any word yet on a possible Blu set release here in the states,

Not that I've heard. I'm still clinging to the hope that whenever the new BSG series starts airing that Caprica will then be released on Blu-ray.

``New'' BSG series? When and what channel is that going to air on?

There's supposed to be a prequel series with young Adama during the first Cylon war. It doesn't have a date yet but I would assume it'll be on Sci-Fi- excuse me, SyFy. I think the last I heard they said it may be going to the internet (which can't bode well for it or a potential Caprica Blu-ray tieing in with it) or it'll just rot in limbo.

I sure hope that B&C winds up on-air. If it is any good it has a captive audience already. I haven't picked up Caprica for the same reasons as everyone else, I have BSG on Blu, Caprica needs to be on Blu as well.

Not to mention the whole 1.0/1.5 garbage. I'd probably relent and get a DVD of the complete series, but 2 boxes of a one-season HD show in SD? I can only take so much. Since the French is 25fps I'm holding off on that release. Can't stand speedup. I'm sure Uni will just say "You see, no one bought it" but I'm only buying SD now for old TV shows and B-movies. Even some of them are out now - who would have believed Star Crash on Blu-Ray?

Caprica was too good, I guess.

Well it sounds like Syfy has decided not to run B&C as a series. Boo! Hopefully someone else picks it up for broadcast. After my initial negative reaction to the reimagined BSG, I really enjoyed the series, so more in the BSG universe would be a good thing.
