Forum Updates including a new one coming this week (8/1)

I haven't given an update in a while so here is a catchup one.  Over the last few months we have done a lot of bug fixes, made posting classifieds easier, made some significant enhancements to our standard editor and done a lot of tweaking with our WYSIWYG advanced editor.  We have also done a lot of backend DB work and really beefed up the owner admin tools.

Starting with the update we are loading this week I'll start posting relevent information here in the feedback area so here goes:

Sometime this week we will be loading a new update.  You will be logged out as part of that process.  Here is what is changing:

Private Message Popup preference: We’ve added a user preference to turn off the popup that notifies you of a new private message. If you turn it off, you will no longer receive the popup message when a new PM is received.

Infinite login sessions: This means that users will never be logged out, or would stay logged in for a very long time. By default, users will remained in for ten years.  We will need to logout ALL users in order for the change to go into affect- Please keep in mind that when the release goes out, you will need to login again.

Forum Preferences pop-up: Previously, users had to visit their profiles and “Edit Account Details” if they wanted to change 1) their editor preference or other preferences.  You will now be able to do this right in the forums by clicking the “preferences” button.

Ability to forward PMs: You’ll now see a “forward” button that will let you send messages to other forum members.

Add support for "Latest" tab in Tapatalk: This is Tapatalk’s equivalent of the “new posts” page. We now support it for sites that have enabled Tapatalk access for mobile users.

If you haven't had a chance to use the new forum preferences button its worth a look:

I'm not sure if this is a result of the updates but the "hot zone" that triggers the pop up around a user's name is a bit wide. As I'm scrolling through the thread, the pop up triggering as every post goes by is a little annoying, especially when the mouse is nowhere near the actual letters in the user name.

The image shows exactly how wide the active area is, outlined in red. If the size of the area could be reduced to the actual number of characters in the user name or if it required a click to activate the pop up that would probably be better.

Adam, when i go to New Posts, i cannot go to page 2, after i am done with page 1. It just reloads page 1 again. I do not seem to have that problem if i go to a thread with more than 1 page, or a specific forum.
I have a Mac, and it does the same thing on Safari, and Chrome. Thanks for the help.

Rick, I think this is a bug that popped up after our latest release yesterday (more details in a minute).  When I went to report it now I saw that it had already been reported by another site and it is working for me so it may have been fixed.  Can you try it again and let me know if its working?

This is a bug that is becoming more and more aggravating for me since it appeared.  It really disrupts my flow when surfing the forum.  As I scroll down a thread--if my cursor happens to be in the center of the screen--all the sudden I have to deal with the drop-down menu of options connected to the clickable link of a member's User ID.

I held back when Cameron first reported it...but decided to search out this post again because this should be an easy fix that would vastly improve forum navigation.
