Little House on the Prairie: The Complete 9 Season Set

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is bringing one of television's all-time top family dramas back for the holidays!  With sleek new packaging, loaded with special features and a new low price, Little House on the Prairie: The Complete 9 Season Set will be available in the fall.  The collection contains all nine seasons and 203 episodes of the beloved series in a 55-disc DVD collection. Hours of special features include the television pilot movie that birthed the show, plus extensive interviews and featurettes, audio commentaries and more!  Longtime fans will relive the exhilarating exploits and new viewers will revel in the Ingalls' unconquerable courage as they strive to create a better way of life.

When "Little House on the Prairie" made its television debut in September 1974, it captured the hearts and imaginations of American families.  A top-rated series throughout its nine-season run, the timeless show's themes of love, discipline, morality and strong values continue to resonate with viewers around the world through its continued syndication.  Nominated for 17 Emmy® and three Golden Globe® awards during its original TV run, "Little House on the Prairie" was based on the best-selling books by Laura Ingalls Wilder that documented the extraordinary adventures of a young pioneer family's struggle to build a new life for themselves on the lawless American frontier of the 1870s.

Pricing: DVD - $149.98 (55-disc set)

Didn't they already bring out a complete series set with the covered wagon packaging? How is this going to be different?

Will this release contain the original, uncut versions of the episodes?!  If its the syndicated crap that was on the previous releases (which is probably what it will be unfortunately), then I don't see the reason for putting out this release?!  Fans of this great show want the episodes as they originally aired- UNCUT!

Any reference for this release, I see no link in the post above?!

All of Michael Landon's shows, with the exception of Bonanza, have been butchered beyond belief on DVD, so why on Earth should this be any different?

Well they have a couple of months. Someone needs to contact Lionsgate and ask them what's going on. If Mill Creek can put out uncut, reissued versions of "Roseanne" and "Third Rock from the Sun," then Lionsgate can get Little House right.

Yes I will be interested if they are uncut.

Anyone have any news on this release- are the episodes uncut or the same edited crap as the previous releases?!

UN..cut? I have Seasons 1 - 5, but I'd only rebuy those and the rest if UN...cut!

If only Mr. Landon was still around he'd handle this in a way that would make everybody happy. smile.gif

RIP Pa.

I saw the set at Target this weekend. They have it for $99. The packaging is more compact. It looks like they come in a CD wallet instead of the old notebook binder design. It weighs a lot less than the original set. You can actually lift it with one hand. The old set felt like a brick.
