My DVDs are starting to feel a bit dated, would love to see the following released on Blu-ray:

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER
THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM
THE PREMATURE BURIAL
TALES OF TERROR
THE COMEDY OF TERRORS
THE RAVEN
THE HAUNTED PALACE
THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH
THE TOMB OF LIGEIA

How about their later guilty pleasures like Squirm, Food of the Gods, Empire of the Ants and Frogs?

Those are great fun, too, but the aforementioned Poe list cries out for good Blu-ray treatment.

from www.dkrkrm.com

eight films: House of Usher, Pit and the Pendulum, Premature Burial, Tales of Terror, The Raven, The Haunted Palace, The Masque of the Red Death, and The Tomb of Ligeia. Corman’s collaboration with his ensemble of artisans and craftsman would include scriptwriters Richard Matheson, Charles Beaumont and Robert Towne, art director Daniel Haller, composer Les Baxter, and cinematographers Nicolas Roeg and Floyd Crosby. We pay tribute to them, the legendary Roger Corman and the late Vincent Price with this exhibition of their greatest work together, the likes of which we will see… NEVERMORE.

actually the more i think on this subject, first the answer is yes, i would love to see these in all their glory, but i am wondering if singles or double features released via FOX as exclusives at Wal-mart exclusives would be the way to go, or do we hope that there was a little something special in the deal with Criterion, we got the BBS Story, how about the AIP Story Corman/Price/Poe

I would love to own as many classic AIP Corman films and the like to be released on BLU. I have a huge collection of the Midnite Movie line, wish they could carry it over to blu.

All of the above mentioned Corman Poe films(except for maybe Tales of Terror) have appeared on MGMHD in the last year, looking excellent in 1080. I hope they eventually make their way to blu, maybe in reasonably priced double feature sets. As an alternative, MGM's Midnight Movie selections would make excellent content for an HD download service.

I would pick up the Corman 60's AIP films on a factory pressed bluray in a heartbeat. Also MGM's Hammer films. I bet if they carried them over in their DVD Midnight Movie double-feature configurations they would sell very well. Some of those were non-anamorphic on DVD and really could use an upgrade.

"The Haunted Palace" and "The Raven" I would definitely get. Hopefully, they will get around to putting these out on blu-ray.

I'm going with you on this.  Double Features exclusive through Wal-Mart or Best Buy for the Halloween season.  It would be a sure buy for me.  Also on a different take, how about the Beach Party films on Blu-ray double featured exclusive through a brick and mortar store in the spring.

The Amityville Horror was a American International release, If memory serves me right, it was one of the last films they produced before closing up shop.

I'd LOVE a complete set a la Criterion's BBS Story.  I'm tired of having things doled out me and having to buy them piecemeal.  Those eight Poe flicks belong on my shelf, right now, damn it, in one deluxe box set.

The way MGM seems to be getting their catalog out on Blu lately through various exclusives in addition to regular releases kind of astonishes me. They are doing a better job of it now than almost all other studios, plus many of their transfers are remarkable and the prices are right. I would not be at all surprised (but would be delighted) to see at least a few of the Corman/Poes out before too much longer. And (hint, hint, MGM) maybe we'll get EXODUS finally.
