Anthony,

thank you for mention THE LAST WALTZ as being already available in US. I'd slipped the release, but ordered the BD right now.

- Walter.

You're right, Walter,

I sure would like to see a single disc release of THE LAST PICTURE SHOW. As a part of the BBS Story set from Criterion I didn't take notice of the release, since Criterions are always code locked for Europe/Germany and I don't own a codefree player.

I'm going even simpler: last night I watched the 1999 historical epic Sunshine (not the 2007 Sci-Fi flick). BRILLIANT movie! And it looks like the DVD is OOP. Paramount, stick this on a Blu-Ray for me (and my 7 billion closest friends), please.

Interestingly, I noticed that *every* negative review linked to this movie on Rotten Tomatoes is actually for the 2007 movie.

Very tough to narrow down to three for many of these, but here we go. I also added Lionsgate since they are a much bigger player than they used to be, with the Artisan, Miramax, StudioCanal, and Republic catalogs under their label. Some of these studios have titles that I know are coming either through them or licensing out to companies like Criterion, so that helped me a bit, too.

Sony

The Age of Innocence

A Man for All Seasons

On the Waterfront

Fox

The Grapes of Wrath

The Ox-Bow Incident

That Thing You Do!

Lionsgate

A Hard Day's Night

High Noon

Kind Hearts and Coronet

MGM

The Black Stallion

Henry V (1989)

They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

Paramount

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)

Chinatown

The Elephant Man

Warner

Bringing Up Baby

Giant

The Sea Hawk

Universal

The Pianist

Rear Window

Rope

Disney

Grosse Pointe Blank

Ed Wood

Mary Poppins

A very nice region-free Blu of THE ELEPHANT MAN can be purchased from Amazon UK.

For clarification purposes, here are some other titles mentioned by people in this thread known to be in the works:

Red River - MGM has licensed it to Criterion, who should be releasing it in the next year or so.

Meet Me in St. Louis - Pretty sure this has been confirmed as being in the works at WB.

12 Angry Men - Rumored to have been picked up from MGM by Criterion

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Confirmed to be in the works at Sony

The Crow - coming 9/27/11 from Lionsgate

Foreign Correspondent - Coming from Criterion via the Castle Hill (WB no longer has licenses; same deal that brought Stagecoach to Criterion)

Also:

The Conformist - Rumor only, but supposedly Criterion may have picked it up from Paramount in their latest agreement earlier this year.

Participation in this thread seems to have dried up. I for one have enjoyed reading everyone's wish lists.

Also, it was nice to see the Roger Corman/AIP/Edgar Allen Poe series of films get some love in yet another more recent thread here! Hopefully those 8 films will be forthcoming...

I'm curious: are the results of the voting in this thread going to be forwarded to the appropriate people at each studio??
