The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks Mike, glad you were able to return Scarlett Johansson to the WRU gallery smile.gif.

Unknown, and the Adjustment Bureau for me.  The Island when it comes down in price a bit :)

Weird...the Blu-Ray of Louie Season 1 is cheaper than the regular DVD?

Great show.

Just The Adjustment Bureau for me this week. One of my favorite movies of the year so far.

Thanks as always, Mike, and happy father's day!

My goodness...what to pick from?

Mister T?

Orgasm, Inc?

Mega Python vs. Gatoroid?

Nothing for me this week...TOO many choices that I can't narrow down!

(Although a rental/streaming Spine Tingler! The William Castle Story could be interesting...)

Happy Father's Day to all that are...

I might rent The Adjustment Bureau but that's about it.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

Excellent choice of photos this week, Mike, any time we get to see January Jones AND Scarlett Johansson in the roundup, its going to be a good week.

I will be renting the Adjustment Bureau and Cedar Rapids eventually.  I am strongly considering purchasing Louie, but Amazon has some very confusing information regarding the difference between the blu-ray and DVD.  The DVD version  is described as "Louie: Season One (DVD/Blu-ray Combo in DVD Packaging)", while the blu-ray version is described as "Louie Season One (2 Disc Combo in Blu-Ray Packaging)."  The packaging, however, does not indicate any combination formatting at all.  Does anyone have any more information on this issue?  I might have to wait until Tuesday to see exactly what the difference is in person...

HappyThankYouMorePlease and Unknown in the Netflix queue.  All I really plan on picking up are the two Transformers movies at BB.  Thanks Mike!

Looking at the Target ad, they have the "Best of I Love Lucy" (which Matt Hough reviewed) which is listed as a Target exclusive.

The Best of I Love Lucy DVD Review

It's a 14 episode collection for $9.99.

Thanks for the roundup.   I'll be buying The Adjustment Bureau.

Thanks, Eric.

I had that listing circled in my Target ad for this week but promptly forgot all about it.  Thanks.  I'm going to add it and the link to Matt's review to the grid in the OP.

I am penciled in to review Louie: Season One, but the review copy has not arrived and may not arrive. (We're never sure what they will and won't send us. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the decision making.)

It's not a DVD, so it's a bit off topic, but does anyone know what Best Buy is selling the new Weird Al CD for?

I imagine because they figure a few people might want to add it to their collection.

Weird Al's video for "Perform This Way"...his parody of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way."

The review for Cedar Rapids can be found here.

Later today I hope to have the Agatha Christie's Marple: Set 5 review up. Tomorrow will be Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.

You know, I read these articles on the "disappointing" BD sales...Best Buy sales in Music and Movies dropping 13%...BB, Target, Wal-Mart cutting back media selections...and now only 23 posts in the WRU?  On a Thursday?  I remember the "good old-days" of multi-page threads EVERY week, usually by Tuesday when everyone posted their "finds" at the various retailers.  frown.gif

Well, the Deluxe version of the new Weird Al CD comes with a DVD, so it's on topic!

That said, anyone know if the deluxe edition is worth getting? The videos on the Straight Outta Lynwood DualDisc were so bad they actually made me angry (and I go WAY back with Al -- In 3D was one of the first records I ever got).

You can preview the videos on the iTunes album page.  Most of them look like poorly done shockwave flash animations.  Probably not worth it.

^ To post about "finds" there have to be finds out there. Amazon still has stellar deals from time to time, but most of the B&M retailers are within a couple dollars of each other now. The days of the giant Walmart bargain bins and the like appear to be over.

Well I just went into my local BBY and found a whole bunch of Blu for $5.99, $7.99, $9.99, and $14.99.  Target also has a bunch of movies for $9.99 and $14.99.  I don't know what constitutes a "find" but surely some of those qualify.  I decided to buy Terminator Salvation for $9.99 (haven't seen it before).  I also realized that I am a total cheapskate buying movies.  I looked at Book of Eli for $9.99 (haven't seen it either) and decided to put it back because I could rent it for $2.  Blockbuster had the 5 for $20 Blu earlier in June and I picked up 15 movies but if I don't think I am really interested, I won't bother buying it even for $4.  The blind buy limit for me is $5 on questionable movies and $10 on family movies.  Basically the cost of the rental, gas, and a little for the time.  Renting isn't easier but it sure tends to be cheaper with a little planning.

Waiting for July 4th holiday time and another expected Blockbuster sale.  I enjoyed having those 15 movies waiting for me at my convenience that I think if they do another 5 for $20, I'll buy most of them, even the ones that are really questionable.
