HTF thinks Firefox 5.0 Beta is a mobile browser

I'm getting:

"Your mobile browser can only load the Basic editor. You may see some HTML source displayed. Any BBCode you enter will be converted to HTML when you save."

on all of the reply and edit boxes. WYSIWYG is not working at all. For some reason, the software interprets Firefox 5 as a mobile browser.

I'm not up-to-speed on this, but didn't Firefox 4.0 just recently get its official full release???  And 5.0 is already in beta now? confused.gif

Mozilla plans to release versions 5, 6 and 7 in 2011. They'll all be more incremental than the 3 to 4 transition. Browser competition is starting to heat up.

I'll get it reported.  Thanks.  In the meantime our "basic" editor got a lot less basic recently and supports a lot of additional functions.

So I did some checking and any browser that doesn't have native support in our WYSIWYG browser will get that message and direct you to the BBCode editor.  It will probably be a few weeks before FF5 is approved in the editor.  In the meantime the error you get will be updated to make more sense.  Something along the lines of "The rich text editor is not compatible with your browser", instead of you have a mobile browser.

Thanks, Adam! I wasn't overly concerned for my sake, since these are the kind of things you run into using beta software. I just wanted you guys to be aware of it so the problem would be solved by the time the release version of FF5 came out.

IE9 after an update now won't pull up the avanced editor no matter what; I just get the mobile editor only..

Firefox 5 just left beta today.


EDIT: And the edit box is now working properly with it.
