AMAZON PRE-ORDER (August 30th).

That's the cover art Digital Bits is running. No clue if it's been remastered, or just thrown onto solo DVD.

This title does need to be remastered. It's not very often at all that I find a transfer tough going, but this was one as it looked on the SCI-FI COLLECTION.

and yet once again, Universal just goes to a previous collection and pulls a title and releases it as a single, and not an upgrade to HD, just like the have done with some of the Mae West titles, i would like to see them release something that hasnt been on disc yet, Island of Lost Souls???

Amen.  Though there's a rumor (fingers crossed...) that Island of Lost Souls is due for Criterion treatment.

...or a special edition of Death Becomes Her (in widescreen this time)

or a widescreen version of Iceman

or a special edition of Midnight Run...

I would much rather have proper 1.85:1 widescreen releases of the other titles in Sci-Fi Vol. 1 that they screwed up than another Incredible Shrinking Man its the only title I was happy with in that set..

It will probably be the same master used for the Sci-Fi set. But if it's being restored for Blu-Ray, then maybe it will be a new transfer.

I did hear a rumor on blu-ray.com that it was also destined for blu, but, I think, that's misinformtaion.

Of all the possible genre choices that Universal could make for a debut on Blu, this one would seem unlikely to say the least.
