THIS IS BULLS#@#.  It's a BRAND NEW COPY of a film thats been on the market for what, 4 months?  And the code expired 4/30.  I bought it in the Amazon sale for $15 or so two days ago.

 

STUDIOS YOU CANNOT DO THIS.  These short expiry dates are UNACCEPTABLE.

I used to use the digital copies on my iPhone and other devices but it got to the point where I'd just rip the Blu-ray using MakeMKV and then use Handbrake to create a copy for my mobile devices. No DRM worries that way.

True. but you've traded that for legal worries.
