Putting it in your cart doesnt lock in anything. Ou actually have to order it.

Tony,

Okay, thanks.  That makes sense.  I haven't used the pre-order function very often.

I don't know if I'll pick this up now, though.  Probably not.

Since I bought all most of my Floyd during my college years, my older CD pressings are scratched all to hell which bugs an anal-retentive audio guy like me. tongue.gif   That being said, I'm looking forward to getting nice shiny new copies of the older material in remastered form.  I'm also not worried about any compression...I suspect PF would not leave this task up to anyone, so I expect the same treatment with their audio legacy as The Beatles received.  Aside from that I'm looking forward to hearing the "Big Three" albums in all of their multi-channel glory (presuming of course "The Wall" gets the same MC treatment in the future).  While I do own the SACD of DSOTM, I only have my Oppo Blu-ray player running in in 2-channel stereo via analog so I have yet to hear it in surround.  Plus, it will just be nice to have on Blu-ray and should prove to the industry that we want future material on Blu-ray AUDIO.

I'm mildly interested in remastered Meddle and Wish You Were Here, but I can't imagine adding yet another format of DSOTM to my collection. The demos and outtakes are what interest me most, because I love to hear early incarnations of songs and how different they ended up when finally recorded for album release. But I'm not paying that much money to get those, another copy of albums I already have on multiple formats, and a bunch of repro non-collectible junk.

No intent to thread fart here, but I find this whole multi-level packaging extravaganza a bit disappointing....I'd much prefer a Thank You For Being A Fan Over the Past 35 Years And Buying Almost Every Vinyl, 8-Track, Cassette, Quad Stereo Vinyl, MFSL, CD, and Remastered CD Edition of Your Music You've Ever Released Over the Past 35 Years So Here's Your Rarities and Other Music You've Never Heard Before In One Small But Reasonably Priced Package Edition.

...and I just bought OBTW too. >_<

I'm a huge Floyd fan, but I think the only way I'm buying these all these albums again is in multichannel. So I will be getting WYWH for sure, DSOTM, I already have the SACD (although if there is a DVD-Audio version in the package, I might bite so I can have a multichannel version to listen to in my cars.) The outtakes and live material could be cool, but if you have the "Total Eclipse" and "Tree Full of Secrets" packages that are floating around, I'm betting alot of this stuff will not be new (Like the Beatles Anthology, supposedly that stuff had been bootlegged for years until they decided to officially release it).

On a side note, I love how Roger likes to come off as an anti-capitalism guy, but there doesn't seem to be any protest to the idea of spending in like $200 on an album and some, mostly worthless swag.

Hm, that Ozzy set looks intriguing. No sign of it on Amazon though.

I think it's exclusive to his site.

I'm interested enough in this, I'll probably pick up the remasters as well as WYWH on SACD, but I'll probably give the Immersions the skip.  Thanks for the info.

Curious to see when Acoustic Sounds starts advertising the WYWH SACD - they've been sitting on this treasure for years, one would think they'd be comping at the bit to get the news out.

My interest in these have waned. I might only buy the Dark Side Of The Moon immersion set.

For me, "The Wall" yes (only cuz I wanted to hear it in lossless/high-res surround as it's not my favorite PF album) but defnitiely not WYWH, that will sound fantastic.

I'd prefer to pay 30.00 each for the Blu-Ray Discs.  260.00 is really going to make the wife mad!

Any News on the WYWH SACD? It's still not available for order anywhere I've looked.

A bit pricey, eh?
Yeah. . .much as I'd like to get it, no way I can justify $35. Hopefully I'll find it on sale some time.

Amazon sells the DSotM SACD for $13, so I guess there's hope.

Agreed.  I have recently fells on some tough times and may have to wait myself.  It sucks, I've only been waiting on this release for like 5+ years now. frown.gif

Got these on release, and I can say they're a great improvement, however whoever is in charge of marketing these days, and keeps deciding that cardboard slip cases are the way to go for discs should be shot. I removed all the discs and put them in jewel cases so I don't scratch them every time I take a disc out. Now just waiting for WYWH sacd to ship.

I picked up the box of stuff version of DSOTM. not had a chance to listen to it. I really wanted the blu ray lossless versions. The extras marble and what not don't bother me. :)

I just ordered this.. expensive but what are you going to do?  I was told only 10000 are being pressed with over 6000 orders already done.  Looking forward to this.  Apparently exclusive to Acoustic Sounds.

OK, I said screw it and just ordered my copy.  There is indeed only 10K copies being pressed and they are indeed up to 6K right now.  I ended up speaking to an employee there for a few minutes and they are so stoked about this title.  Apparently, it's cased in a book-like edition, so it's really nice.  She also mentioned that she had been receiving TONS of e-mails from people requesting Acoustic Sounds to work on "The Wall" in surround next.  She said she told Chad Kassem this and he raised his eyebrow. biggrin.gif
