I have a mid-range Denon 7.1 receiver. Recently I've decided that I want some stereo speakers in the balcony over the room. The reason is that the balcony is where my musician friends and I 'jam'. I have an airport Express connected to the receiver and can use my iTouch for music playback. The sound from the downstairs isn't quite loud/clear enough when we are trying to catch a part of a song as a group. I figure if I got a wireless speaker extension I could get the sound up there loud enough to be useful.
The trouble is that my Denon receiver does not have a/b speakers. I know that wiring two pairs of front speakers would be bad, but then I thought about it: with a wireless system the transmitter really isn't consuming any power, it is just reading the signal...The power consumption happens at the wireless-receiver end - which is not connected at all to the speaker line or amp.
Does anyone know - would it be OK to wire a wireless transmitter along with the speakers on the same line/output?
What do you think?
