The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thank goodness the basic Tangled Blu is only $19.99 at BB (although it still ticks me off the $5 coupon is only good for the 4-disc version). I'll be picking that up this week. If the NIMH Blu had the (correct) 1.33.1 aspect ratio, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but I hate "fake" widescreen. redface.gif

Thanks Mike.

I have Evengelion 2.22, Soylent Green, and Scream coming to me on Blu. I will get Sherlock Holmes, on Blu when the price comes down just a little bit more.

But you can get the 4-disc version for $19.99 if you use the coupon at Target!

Tangled and Black Swan are definite rentals for me this week!  Thanks, Mike!

Thanks Mike.  This week is just as bad as last.  Not sure which version of The Ten Commandments, Tangled 3D, Long Kiss Goodnight and Soylent Green

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
its people!

I have no idea why Legally Blond 2 is making it to BD before Legally Blond....

Tangled and John Adams for sure this week.  There are a ton of Warner movies and TV shows on sale this week at BB.com.  Supernatural, Big Bang Theory, Vampire Diaries, Smallville, Sopranos...all on Blu.

BB.com also lists Life on Blu-ray as being on sale.  HOWEVER...it looks to be the Oprah version, not the original.  Planet Earth, however, appears to be the original for $24.99.  It's entirely possible you *might* be able to pull one over on the cashiers for Life, though I wouldn't count on it.  (The Attenborough version of Life is considerably cheaper on Amazon if anyone's interested.)

Big week for me....my number 1  pick for the week is The Ten Commandments 3 disc boxset.  Also getting the Scream trilogy, Tangled 3D pack and thinking about Black Swan.  Geez....even The Spongebob Squarepants Movie and The Long Kiss Goodnight are out on Blu-ray this week...have to get around to picking those up sometime.

Thanks for making me poor, Mike. furious.gif........smiley_wink.gif

Mad Men is all I'm getting this week. Will probably get Scream eventually when the price drops a wee bit more. Even at $14.99 it's just a little too much to spend for something I already own on DVD and haven't watched in years (probably because it non-anamorphic, but still).

Heavy week full of releases,  I have a question though, does anyone know if you can stack the Target Coupon for Tangled with the DMR coupon, that would make the 3D combo pack come out to 14.99 before taxes. biggrin.gif

The rest well I will have to pick and choose, so many I want but might wait for better pricing, Mad Men, and Scream series.

I have no use for the 4-disc version (I don't give a shit about the extra DVD and digital copy, and I'll probably never own a 3D television set), so why bother getting it? All I want is the Blu-Ray version, so I don't need all of that extra bullshit. All of the extra features (what pitifully few there are frown.gif) are contained on the one-disc Blu-Ray, so there's really no reason to buy the four-disc version for me.

you can try to use the $5 coupon on the regular Tangled, all the store can do is say no.

Big week for me. I'll be getting the three Scream movies, Black Swan and Mad Men on Blu-ray. I'll hold off on Treme until it goes on sale.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

Not likely since they're the same coupon.

Target does have another coupon available to some people  for "$5 off Disney Bluray $24.99+"  that was sent out to come people in there Easter catalog.  Nobody has figured out

who got these mailers and who didn;t so it's a bit YMMV.

It;s a 2 sided coupon, but here;s a link to a printable scan of that coupon.   Several folks have already used this for Nausicaa and are planning on using it for

Tangled and some other Disney's over the next few weeks.

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bargains/588609-target-5-disney-blu-ray-coupon-2.html    snowmaker at post 39, click the link and print.  The coupon isn't individually

numbered and it's a Target coupon so that one should stack with the DMR coupon on the 3D release at least.

Other news --  best Buy online lists the 2 Disc Tangled at 19.99 and the 4 disc at 24.99 so it's possible they might meet their online site and then take the DMR coupon as well -- you

never know how that works at BB.

I was right about Life (BD).  The version in story is the Oprah edition, not the Attenborough.

I still picked up more than I was planning on...it's been a bad will power week...

Dear AMC,
Please renew Mad Men, so that Mike can post a comprehensive listing of the prices when the fifth season comes out on DVD and Blu Ray. I promise to buy the fourth season this week.

Sincerely,
Tim

There's no doubt it'll get renewed. It's just taking forever to work out the terms between AMC and Lionsgate.

Link to Season Four Blu-ray review has been added.

I updated the pricing grid with review links to Scream, Sherlock Holmes (Collection)Secret of NIMH, and Made in Dagenham

Oh my poor bleeding wallet.

FYI: BestBuy.com is currently showing $24.99 for the Tangled 3D Combo Pack.  Dunno if the in-store price is the same, but if so then the coupon will take it down to match the regular combo.

Target has got my dollars so far today.  Picked up the exclusive Black Swan BD/DVD combo for $19.99, same price as Best Buy and Amazon without the DVD.  Added bonus for me is the cover with dark background which, again, for some reason, was awarded to the DVD instead of the BD.  (I usually prefer a darker or more serious looking image, a good example being Apocalypse Now, DVD vs BD.)  Target also had the BD digibook Rocky Horror Picture Show on sale for $16.99, and this had been on my list for quite a while.  SOLD.

Stopped at Walmart for a look, just in case -- only to be put off by the selection in general, and the prices higher than Best Buy and Target on several of the items I'd just seen there.

One other nice thing about this Black Swan BD is the Criterion-style translucent NON-BLUE plastic case.  Criterion goes one better by dispensing with the Blu-ray banner section across the top, but what a nice improvement anyway, just being rid of the blue.

BTW, my Best Buy accepted the $5 DMR coupon for the 2-disc Blu of Tangled, so keep that in mind.

Anyone expecting Disney to issue a coupon for the Tron sets?  Or do they only do it for animation?  Or is it too soon to know?

^ I could be wrong but I only remember the coupons being available for animated movies.

There was a coupon for the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland.

And, so did my local Target tonight!  thumbsup.gif  Thanks, Robert.  I probably wouldn't have tried that otherwise.

Advance copy of Target ad points toward a $5 DMR coupon on Tron Legacy.

I think the Disney site is registered already, but not active yet.
