The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Mike-

This is where I usually thank you for not just doing the update, but saving me money.  Not this week!  You are costing me money this week with all the barely discounted great catalog titles on BD you listed laugh.gif.  Its a good thing I have taken it easy the last few weeks.  This week: Dr. Dolittle, Anastasia (yes!), Robots, The Sandlot (more yes!), Stand By Me, Random Hearts and I might even update my Galaxina HD DVD. Phew.  I hope there is nothing but Ten Commandments next week or I'll be in trouble at home.

By the way, Adam...your post reminded me that there were a couple of Blu-ray titles this week that had conflicting release dates.

Among them: Against All Odds & Awakenings.

Trying to check them out, I made the determination that I think they are coming out next week.

Yes, those two Image titles have moved into the following week.

I just received the review copy of Silent Naruse from Criterion late yesterday afternoon, so I hope to have the review up by tomorrow night.

I'm definitely buying Anastasia after a price break.

Nothing for me this week. That's good probably a good thing because there's a ton of stuff next week.

Thanks for the prices though! smile.gif

One man's busy week is another man's dry week, Adam.  biggrin.gif

Which reminds me:  Dr. Dolittle?  Really?  laugh.gif  Although I must admit that I'm passing judgment on the film without having ever seen it.  blush.gif

Renting Skyline (and not expecting much).  Also interested in the Keaton title...dad loves him, but I've never been a huge fan.  Might check it out anyway.

Nothing stands out for me immediately.  The Times of Harvey Milk will be this summer with the Criterion sale.  I may stop into BB to grab Close Encounters for $14.99, but that's pretty much it.  Time to start saving those pennies again!

Riddick, if reviews say the video quality of Chronicles is the same as or better than the original release. I am concerned it might not be, because it contains both the theatrical and the director's cut this time, and for all we know they may be separate files rather than using seamless branching.

This has been a rather dry spell for me and purchases.  Those two Spaghetti Westerns look intriguing, and the prices are great... We shall see.  Thanks as always, Mike.  Your attention to detail is always appreciated.

Stephen, if you get the opportunity...post back here (or in any WRU) about how that title looks/sounds.  I'm a bit curious about 12 films, three discs, and $5.99.  biggrin.gif

Mike,

I sure will post back, only problem is from amazon it ships in 1-3 weeks.

I read online that each disc will be two sided with 2 movies on each.  hopefully quality won't be so bad.

I already have vol. 1 (individual disc) collection which is 6 of these movies so I'll be able to compare the video if it looks different

Several full seasons of Smallville  on Bluray  available at Amazon for $25.99 to $27.99

For anyone with a closing Border's nearby, I stopped in to mine tonight and BD's were up to 50% off, DVD's 40%.  They had some stuff I'd bite on when the prices comes down more.  A few Criterion's in the mix, Bond's and tons of box sets.  I'll go back this weekend to see if we're up to 60%...

Thanks, I'll head to the mall this weekend

When I passed today, the sign still said 40-60% off so I didn't bother going in.  If and when the numbers get increased again, I'll check.  There's no point in The Rise of Cobra for $20 (some people might say there's no point in it period...).
