The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks Mike!  Anyone have any opinions on Off Limits?  I should note that Jackass 3D while on Blu-ray is NOT a 3D blu-ray.  Be prepared to break out the paper glasses.....frown.gif

Drive Angry will be lucky if it's in theaters until 3/22/11, let alone 4/22/11.

$24.99:  Sons of Anarchy: Season 2, Modern Family: S1, Sexter: S4.

I'll have to see if I can track down Sexter S1-S3 first.  Is this the one about the serial killer who sends nude pics of himself to his victims via cell phone? biggrin.gif

The Walking Dead on Blu-ray for me.......the only thing else that interests me this week is MST3K: XX, but I won't be getting that for awhile.  Slow week otherwise....

Excalibur even with a mediocre transfer is still better than what I have now and I love this movie.

Nausicaa is a probable with the Disney $10 coupon, but dang I was hoping for somebody to have at least a small deal.

Morning Glory looked like fun from the trailers, but it's going to one of those movies that will never drop in price I'm afraid.

May just have to get the Billy Joel concert, but live concert (particularly Stadium venue) discs rarely live up to the hope/hype.

I'm confused aout Exit Through Gift Shop.
Hasn't this already been out for awhile?

I'll pick up Jackass 3-D, Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume XX and The Walking Dead: Season One at some point but nothing this week.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

Off Limits is a decent Bob Hope service comedy (though he's really a bit long in the tooth to be in the Army). I don't think the script wrings the maximum fun out of a Hope-Mickey Rooney pairing, but it's "serviceable." (pun intended)

Thanks for the roundup.   Just Excalibur for me (from Amazon with my last week of free Amazon Prime).

Shame the Nausicaa Blu is back up to the standard BB $29.99 price point after getting both Alice In Wonderland and Bambi down to ten bucks apiece after the DMR coupons. frown.gif Oh well, I'll have to pick it up regardless.

I'm really hoping for a winner with this one, too, David.  I hae a stereo Beta tape of Billy Joel Live at the Nassau Coliseum (must be from circa 1983) that has always been one of my favorite recorded concerts.

Don't know, Tony.

Are you sure that maybe it's not your left index finger that's the problem...rather than the "B"on your keyboard?!?  biggrin.gif

BTW, other retailers will be getting the Billy Joel blu on April 5th.  Amazon has an $18.99 pre-order.

Thanks Matt.  I'll wait on it to get to under $10 then.

I actually use my Right finger for the b button.
Gift shop has been on the shelf at Target for awhile now, must have bbeen an exclusive.
Also rented it on Netflix streaming back in December so I guess NF had an early streaming version.

Nothing to buy, but will definitely be renting Walking Dead and Inside Job.  I knew I'd seen Exit... previously on Netflix streaming (my new favorite pastime!).

And Mike, I'm sure you're aware, but the Billy Joel concert arrives on CD this Tuesday also....not sure what he's like live these days, but he was amazing back in the 80's!

I'm sad to say, a Billy Joel concert in the early 80's was maybe my last real live big venue mega-concert -- I think about 10-20 of us from Post-grad school went to that one and it was

incredibly good.   Too old and too busy to play that game anymore.

The Geriatric Circuit concert series from the late 90's+ of people I was actually interested in seeing just didn't interest me much and it was so much easier just to watch

the various Eagles Farewell tours shows on LD/DVD/Bluray  -- cheaper, better sound, and bathrooms closer by.      I'd love to be able to re-live a prime era Jimmy Buffett concert

again.     Saw Elvis, missed the Beatles.   Saw Yes and the Moody Blues, missed Pink Floyd and Zepellin when I had the chance.    Saw Charlie Daniels, the Oak Ridge Boys, went to the

Grand Ole Opry  but danged if I never saw Loretta Lynn.   Saw Chicago,  saw the Guess Who,  but somehow kept missing Elton John and Springsteen

Not a thing this week.  I still have The Walking Dead sitting on the Tivo from when it aired last year.  I haven't been really interested in finishing the season so there's no point in getting it this week on disc.

Was that the DVD or the Blu-ray? The DVD came out in the U.S. last year, but the Blu-ray is just now being released, although it's been available in the U.K. for some time. I'm aware of this only because we've been trying to get review copies without success. (I saw the film in a theater.)

A link to my Blu-ray review of The Man from Nowhere has now been added.

What did you think of it?  confused.gif

I don't know what the hubub is about on it. I thought it was pretty dull especially after the banksy
section finished up and it focused on the other guy, Theirry I think his name was.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the DMR Nausicaa coupon at Amazon? That $29.99 price at Best Buy is painful.

that would be no.
There have been some who have sent an email to amazon on tis coupon and have been given a "one time" credit.

Interesting.

If anyone spots Nausicaa at any other B&Ms for less than $30, please post!  I should probably check the Disney Store.

That Billy Joel concert was on PBS last night.  I only caught a bit of it toward the end -- the musicianship was fine, but his voice didn't sound that great.

Saw it for $27.99 at Target.

Is it just me, or has Best Buy simply stopped selling most discs for less than retail?  I went in there the other day and was stunned by what they were charging for Blu-Rays, compared to what Amazon charges.

Last time I was in Best Buy (the week the original Disney Alice In Wonderland came out) I was surprised at how many BDs were on sale for very reasonable prices.  In fact, I impulse-bought The Expendables for under $10.

Maybe it's just a seasonal fluctuation.

I was in BB to pick up Nausicaa today (got it down to $15 with the DMR coupon and a $5 Reward Zone certificate), and they're currently selling a number of Universal titles on Blu for $9.99 apiece, plus several for $14.99 with a free ticket for either Paul or Your Highness. Check it out.

As noted earlier, what was released in Dec. was a DVD only. What's been released this week is a Blu-ray plus DVD package. I just received a review copy (big thumbsup.gif to Adam G. for persistence!).

Would you feel any different if Thierry was an actor hired by Banksy to play a part, and his whole L.A. art show was an elaborate hoax? That's what many people still believe, although Banksy continues to deny it. But this is an artist who, during a Sotheby's auction of his work, posted a drawing on his website of people bidding on a framed poster that said: "I Can't Believe You Morons Actually Buy This Shit."

After I thought about it I remember now that it was just a dvd at Target.

I don't know Michael, that's a hypothetical that I can't answer.

The movie just didn't do anything for me.

Not that it matters but even if Theirry is a fake and he still created all those pieces
are they still art or not art?
Just throwing it in the mix.
