The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Funny when I read "free corset" I assumed it was from Pirates of the Carribean, as in try wearing one.

For sure only Bambi this week.  Depending on taxes tomorrow and how the smallest paycheck of the year goes this week, maybe a few catalogue titles from BB.  We'll see.

Bambi with the coupon and I'm leaning to the Target deal.

Love and Other Drugs is almost a given, but not at those prices.   I;m hoping to see a coupon float around somewhere for this one.   Many Fox releases

over the past month or so have had a $4 or 5 off somewhere.

127 Hours though for some reason this movie just doesn't interest me from a story perspective, but the performances and the combined purchase deals

may push me over the edge ($39 for both is still a bit steep??)

Already have Out of Sight and the Pirates Trilogy.

Thanks Mike.  Bambi for me

Will get Bambi with the coupon and also The Cable Guy....one of my all-time favorite Jim Carrey films.  popcorn.gif

Thanks, Mike.

Probably nothing for me this week, which should make for some relief (on my wallet)... or should that only be reprieve (until next week)? tongue.gif laugh.gif

Renting 127 Hours and Burlesque when they hit Netflix...otherwise, nada!

Regarding the "free" ticket for On Stranger Tides offered with the POTC box...in what 1995-era time warp can you see a nighttime showing of a movie for only $8.50 (especially in the 3D era)? It should more accurately read, "2/3rds of a free ticket". rolleyes.gif

Only Bambi for me.

I'll get Bambi this week and I'll pick up The Cable Guy at some point.

Thanks for the prices! smile.gif

What's the difference between the new Pirates box set and the one that was previously released (I'm pretty sure this was out before)?

Bambi's prices look just fine after the coupon.  This will be my first buy in a while, so I feel okay going for it.  Thanks for the heads up!

Not a thing. Adam inquired about differences in this and prior box (and single) releases of the titles and was told there were no additions to what was already released.

I'm not 100% certain, Malcolm, but I think it's just a re-issue to promote the upcoming 4th film...hence the "free movie ticket."   There are also re-issues of the individual PotC blus...I just didn't bother to list them.

BTW, I'll be in for Bambi this week and likely that Harry Connick Concert on blu (my wife's birthday is coming up...but I'll enjoy it, too).

I hope to have the review for Love and Other Drugs up tonight and 127 Hours up tomorrow night.

That Target.com/movies site says buy *any* POTC movie and get a free ticket to the new movie.  (I didn't read the details.)

The other day I watched Bambi for the first time since the mid-'70s theatrical release.  It was weird -- the songs came back to me like I'd just heard them yesterday.  Can't get 'em out of my head now!  I haven't decided yet whether to upgrade; the DVD is beautiful.

I remember watching Cable Guy years ago and not caring for it that much, but I can't remember why.  Maybe I need to give it another chance?

Guess I'll head to Target today for Bambi with my Disney coupon, to see what the bonus disc is all about.  Have they issued one on a Disney classic before?

From what I'm reading the Target bonus disc isn't all that much.

Target.com describes it as such:

Quote:
Only at Target, get the Diamond Edition of Bambi with an exclusive DVD including trivia, games & activities.

But the disc is described as containing no games or activities...but a single feature called Runnin' Wild: The World of Disney Animals.
Those who have seen it says that the feature is hosted by Kyle Massey & Chelsea Staub (co-hosts of some Disney Channel show) who discuss the Disney animal trivia themselves, draw pictures of Thumper and promote their show.

Again...those who have seen it say it ain't worth anything.

Lordy.  Well, I just brought the mofo home anyway.  I saw that extremely unexciting description in the store, but had no compelling reason to go elsewhere just to buy it without the disc at the same price, so I figured I'll give that disc to someone with kids, or whoever wants it.

Where did you guys see Dr Black, Mr Hyde at Best Buy? I cant find it on their web page and it's not showing up in the store.

Right HERE.  The site now says it is backordered.

The problem might be that BB has the title wrong.  They've got Dr. Black and Mr. White.

The Target in my area only had two copies of Bambi on Blu-ray and neither had the bonus disc. Like you said, it doesn't seem like I missed out on too much.

What's worse, and I didn't look closely enough to see this in the store, is that the extra disc is in an envelope glued to the back of the BD case.  It might come off neatly, might not.  I'm thinking I'd better take the plunge and do it right now, before it "ages".

Done.  Do it now.  The glue blob is a long strip, and it comes off okay, but even after wiping the case with lighter fluid (a.k.a. The Collector's Friend) you can see an outline where the glue substance actually alters the plastic a bit.  I know from experience that that only gets worse if you wait.

Picked up Bambi at my work (Stop & Shop) today for $19.99, meaning I paid only ten bucks for it after the Disney coupon. banana.gifI had to settle for the DVD case packaging (they had no Blu-Ray cases), but for that price, I'm not complaining. I also sent away for the free reproduction of the theatrical poster, meaning I should get it probably by mid-May. rolleyes.gif

Oh my god, is that Target "exclusive" disc a waste of plastic, or what?  I've got a friend's kid lined up to get it.

Were there any other Bambi exclusives, or was this the only one?

Best Buy had a lunchbox for an extra 4.99 I think

Toys R Us had a 'free' plush toy Bambi with purchase, but the base price was 26.99 so basically $4+tax for the plush toy.

I knew I wasn't going to want the Target bonus disc with Bambi...but I still ended up with it.  laugh.gif

Target was simply the most convenient store for me from which tro pick up Bambi on blu.

Target only had the Harry Connick concert title on CD ($9.99) and a DVD/CD package ($14.99).  Too bad they didn't have the blu, too.  I guess I'll order from amazon.
