Positive - tapatalk, thank you

The tapa implementation is quite frankly everything I was hoping for. Kudos.

Its still being tweaked, but thanks for the positive feedback.

I wish there were an iPad tapatalk but that's not your fault =)

I'm less than five minutes with this thing, but is there a way to only list forums I want and to see if said forums have new topics? It's easier to read than a web browser, yeah.

Greg-

Not yet.  Consider this a "soft launch".  We are still enabling various features prior to an "offical" launch.

Thanks. I just bought the app and like the forum with it, but I'll let you get it up and running before using it officially. Looks very promising.

One thing that would be nice to have is the Latest Posts tab...The other forum I use Tapatalk with has this, and it is very handy. Keeps me from having to enter sub-forums to see new posts.

I use Taptalk all the time for my forum thanks for adding it here. It is a great tool to look at whats new on the iPhone.

Sam-  What do you mean?  You can download the Tapatalk app and it runs fine on the iPad...

Very nice.

Features I would 'like' to see:

1. My subscribed threads on one screen
2. Better text layout. Right now everything sorta runs together (blank lines are ignored).

It's coming along nicely, and I now use it for the majority of my iPhone HTF browsing. I'm looking forward to some major features that are missing getting put in; I still need to use the website in mobile Safari sometimes. And there are some minor negative impacts on my desktop use after browsing in Tapa.

But it's a good start. :) thumbsup.gif

Tapatalk just added native iPad support. Hit the app store.

Tapatalk showed me a pop-up that I think said, no need to rebuy for iPad if you already have it on iPhone. Don't know if it's needs a new download.

It just needs an update.

My biggest issue right now is viewing a post from HTF on Tapatalk is difficult because the post loses its formatting (at least it does on Android). For exmple, it is very difficult to tell the differcne between what has been quoted and what is new.

I'm resonable sure it is not just my setup since other forums display properly.

It's an HTF / Tapa thing. All formatting is lost from HTF to Tapa. Line returns are missing. Quotes aren't formatted right. Smilies are parsed wrong. etc.

Though no fault of HTF, I am particularly disappointed in the lack of forum choices on Tapa. Outside of BLURAY.COM, all the other forums I usually check, e.g. DVD TALK, CRITERION, SITCOMSONLINE, etc. are not available.  Most of what is on there seems to me to be poorly executed and maintained forums and often on very specific, esoteric and, quite frankly, juvenile subjects. post #18 of 68

Yep. MacRumors is there, which I like. But no TivoCommunity, no AVS, no Slashdot, nothing else of interest. Some forums are in ForumRunner, but I don't really want a handful of dedicated forum apps. I wish there was One to Rule Them All. :)

I know a lot of you have been asking for this for a while.....sometime this week we will enable support for the latest (new posts) tab in Tapatalk.

Post a note after the next update, if you think of it. I've stopped using Tapa and want to check out this update to see if it fixes one of the problems that's pushed me out of it

It was iPhone formatted when I last tried it, perhaps it's now universal, will check it again.

And the verdict is?

Still not syncing subscription-unread counts with the website.

OK, how does the new function work?

It seems to work, but I don't understand how it is different from Favorites.

"Unread" is empty

"Participated" shows my subscriptions, like the "Favorites" tab.

"All" I guess is a list of all posts, which is something I rarely use on the website.

I don't really care to be negative on the topic...but even with the Tapatalk features, for me HTF is largely unusable on the iPhone, and is back to be a desktop-computer use only (except when I'm on vacation and I only have iPhone to browse.)

We have got a lot of good feedback about Tapatalk.  What makes the forum unusable when using it?

The two biggest problems for me as of mid June (haven't really used it since)
* Tapatalk doesn't update the subscriptions, so I double-read everything I saw on my iPhone when I'm back on a computer.
* Formatting is terrible. Quotes in posts are essentially unreadable. Hidden items aren't viewable.
* emoticons aren't processed
* images aren't shown inline, but switch you to Mobile Safari

Here are 2 examples of what it should look like from other forums:

This is what I see reading HTF:

Also agree that topics are not updated.
