I dislike how, to get all of the extras, you have to get the 5 disc set... and _both_ digital movie downloads.  Kinda silly really.  Just put them all onto one set.

It looks like the 20th Anniversary edition DVD might be worth keeping after all.

Anyone know what is missing or added to the Blu Ray of Tron ?

Would be nice if they could include the tracks from the second disc of the "Special Edition" CD on that new remix ablum. The SE only got released overseas it seems, and now it's super expensive Ebay fodder.

Oscar, according to the Digital Bits who are almost always dead on when describing what's missing from BD's

 Quote:

The DVD will include most of the previous DVD special edition features, along with audio commentary by director Steven Lisberger and others, and the all-new The TRON Phenomenon featurette. To this, the Blu-ray will add the exclusive Photo TRONology. The Blu-ray will also include a bonus DVD.

I haven't seen the new movie but is the very first bonus feature listed in Adam's post a spoiler?

How can I possibly answer that without also being a spoiler? ;)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

No.  Refers to Disney's online viral marketing campaign: http://www.flynnlives.com/

I just spent a few minutes (probably not long enough) trying to make sense of the chart of various versions and features, and reading these few responses, and I'm sorry but I'm still confused.  I'd better just ask it my own way at the risk of being redundant:

If one wants the WHOLE SHEBANG -- the Blu-ray 3D and 2D for Tron: Legacy, the original Tron on Blu-ray, and all the damned extras, old and new -- is it or isn't it all available in one package?  I saw some comment above about downloading something.  Please tell me the whole thing is going to be on physical media?  Please?

The download options you see on the chart are if you want to by the download version which has no physical media.  Think "itunes" version.  While I couldn't tell you where to get them, Disney started selling digital only versions of their films a few releases ago.   Digital prices are so close to on sale BD prices its not worth it smile.gif

Okay, so that's for someone who wants to download the thing, period -- in lieu of buying it on physical media.  Right?  (And rather incredible...)  Thanks!

Just to be safe, I ordered the Identity Disc package. I wanted to get the 3D version, have the original TRON, and all the extras - with so many versions, it was hard to figure out if I could get away with ordering anything less. I am sure I will be happy though!
