Google is supposedly coming out (soon?) w/ an offline mode for GMN so you can preload all the needed data for your nav route while you have data access.  Maybe I'll give this a try when that happens. biggrin.gif  Probably not so great for everyday use, but might be nice for long-ish roadtrips... tongue.gif

No, it does not have built-in GPS hardware.

 

The guy at that link is using Bluetooth to link to an (inexpensive) external GPS receiver for that -- and the receiver could just be something one keeps installed in the vehicle (or not).
