Also: give some attention to organization. For exsmple, thumbs up and thumbs down are on opposite sides and in different rows of the picker. It's always confusing when I'm looking for one of them. Thanks.

I'm finding a lot of the animated .gifs I use (including the "Welcome" smilie) aren't animating any more.  For example,

Adam:

This is one I found most useful...and it would be great to have it where I can access it easily:

It should be animated, however.

Mike, FWIW, this is the code that will allow you to insert the animated version into a message. Edit this message in source mode and copy the code. I'm not sure how I got it to work, but I did.

Michael:

I'm not seeing any of those smilies (in posts 10 & 11) animating.  confused.gif

Bizarre. They were animated immediately after I submitted the posts. And, if I edit the posts now, they're animated in the edit window, but not in the preview window. (Also, click on the one in your post. The "expanded" version should be animated.)

Getting smilies to animate reliably may require more than just minor changes.

Yup.  I see it animate that way.

How hard could it be to get Huddler to have smilies animate on the site?  It seems like it can happen anywhere else.  And...many of our in-house smilies are animated.

This is interesting: I noticed that the smilies in Adam's post above (#3) are still animated. But he's linking to images on another site, rather than copying the .GIF file to the HTF server. I don't know how he managed that.

Oh wait. I see it. He's using a site that provides HTML code for its smileys.

Here's the HTML code for your welcome sign:

I've used the "Import URL" field of the Import Image dialogue when I've used my "Welcome" smiley.

That copies the file to the local server, which is where the problem develops. Linking to another server with HTML code allows the animation to work. It's equivalent to a YouTube embed.

The animated .gifs USED TO animate.  It seems to me like they stopped just a little while back.  Maybe a month or two.  Or three.

A simple bump to renew this idea.
